I am struggling to see what some posters on here expect from DC.

As I can work oit I think we have a first team ‘squad’ excluding our own youth players of 27.

From this we now have Gibbo, Monty, Wozza, Manny, Amoo, Pope injured, a young keeper on loan and 2 untried outfielders again on loan.

This reduces us to 18 players, from which depending on individual posters views who want Crooks / Fitzpatrick / Smith / Joyce / Whitehead/ Cullen / Guthrie’s / Robinson nowhere near a Vale shirt again, and our top scorer Rodney on the bench.  Add to that the Legge contract saga, Brisley coming back from injury and Taylor a very pale shadow of the lad we had last time, and I am concerned we have signed a pup there based on a purple patch, when he couldn’t force his way in to a poor Sunny team so we have given him a 3.5 year contract which many were ecstatic about.

Added to this he has been hamstrung by MCKirdy, who can make things happen (albeit may be a <ovf censored>) excluded from the squad, and yet all our creative players are injured.

As a consequence he has gone to 3 at the back, made us tighter and harder to beat, and with Legge’s throw ins then trying to nick a goal from set plays given our lack of creativity.

Do I enjoy watching this NO, can I understand his strategy YES.  I thought Theo was ok on Tuesday, showed more interest than he has of late, and he has scored goals previously.  Devante shoots / fires that one across he may well have had a tap in as well placed.

pits going to be ugly, but hopefully we can muster a few wins and draws to edge us to safety, then clear the decks and start afresh

Bang on. Don't agree on Taylor though. When played in the right position he was 1 off top scorer last season. As a 20/21 year old centre mid.

I do hope that the 2019-20 version returns Doha, and that was indeed ‘the norm’ not just a purple patch - time will tell

Wonder if it will be hijacked like the Chester one

That is quite a stretch to blame Smithy who had just been shunted to RB. But haters gonna hate. Maybe look at the three then  CB's who stood and watched in admiration as he nodded in unchallenged. Brisley was day dreaming. Crookes went bonkers with him.

Brisley came in, Smith to RB, Brisley in Smith's position asleep. Even their commentators commentated on it.

I don't think you were watching.

I did not watch the match because i follow did not work i saw the replay of the goal though just explain again why smith was where he was when the goalkeeper rolled the ball out to the midfielder who made the pass to the winger who crossed the ball. By the way i do not hate anybody who wears the black and white of the vale.

If it true he was to blame somewhat ,I'm not surprised if so every season since the lad has come in the side I see glaringly obvious mistakes from him ,but we know on about the 5th manager since he made his debut Ribeiro, Brown, Aspin, Askey ,and now Clarke and they all pick him,he is not my favourite at all but they pick him so he obviously must be good I do not see it myself I think he is good 1 in every 6 games and he would never be in my team he offers effort and commitment that's all and has a big mistake in him gamely I watch the game and usually when the opposition get a shot away he never seems to block it and more often than not it's his area of the field where the goals are going in against us .

But these managers do not see it he must be the best trainer ever I'd replace him first if we had anyone replace him with but he haven't and we have to start with him every game unfortunately
