Completely agree it was an unreal moment just sad that Ian Taylor’s goal afterwards was in vain , but that moment we went 2-3 up it was incredible

The comeback at Huddersfield in the cup was good as well

Was the Huddersfield one where we won 4-3 or 3-2 with Richards getting the winner? my nephews first away game that was, when we came out a few Huddersfield lads said you are <ovf censored> you are,my nephew about 9 at the time just replied...well we beat you.

Also at that game my best mate Todder(since passed away) wrapped a totally hammered fan in the orange meshing covering the seats when we got the winner and he flopped about like a fish trying stand up and celebrate 🙂

This goal... I literally lost it when it went in, what a team, what a performance and what a goal.

Cant believe no one has mentioned McCarthys goal vs Everton yet either, I didn't get back to my seat for about 10 minutes after it. Bedlam.

What a great side we had then.... hopefully we can get back to that kind of level again in my lifetime.

4-3, Richards scored direct from a free kick in the last minute. We were 3-1 down with less than 10 minutes to go. When we got to the station in Huddersfield there was a bunch of Vale fans who'd left early to go to the pub... they wouldn't believe we'd won, thought we were winding them up.

Tbh i think it was Kevin Finney?? i think scoring against non league Macclesfield to get a 1-0 win and took us to the tie with Spurs that saved Rudgies job(imagine if they had sacked him wow what we would of missed)

Spot on!It was Kevin Finney's goal v Macclesfield that definitely saved John Rudge's job. It's frightening to think what would've happened had Bell carried out his threat.

Senior pros Monty and Joyce showing their class with comments in the Sentinel. All the very best to both of them. I suspect we will see Joyce back at VP next season with another team. He will get a good reception from me.....until kick off anyway.
