I think we can do better than inconsistent, injury prone Amoo and 36 yo slowing down Legge and so would have liked to have seen 5 out but I'll leave it to big mad Darrell.

Robinson being told he can leave fills me with so much relief I can't articulate it. Not personal son but the idea of you up front for another season would have made it a write off while still in May.

As expected then. Personally, I'm glad Amoo is staying because, on his day (not too many of them this season, I know), he is a match winner.

Does this mean we can expect a big target man to replace Popey?

Or we could be aiming to keep the ball on the floor, you know, the attractive passing game instead of Hoof/Popeball.

I'd prefer it - our best ever front pairing in my view was Foyle and Naylor. Just excellent to watch and effective too.

Whitehead, Burgess & Robinson. Hope they attract buyers…

No ones going to buy them. They might find other clubs willing to take them on depends what their contracts are. We may be able to get them out on loan too

Naylor was technically gifted, he wasn't as good as Bogie in that sense but for a small striker, some of his first touches were incredible. I think people forget just how great he was for us.

His flick up and shot here against Birmingham was outrageous. You could argue Mills and Naylor were our best front pair.

That Mills headed equaliser against Stoke in '97... I remember sat in the Bycars thinking of all the abuse I was going to get in school by Stoke fans the next day and then Mills pops up in front of the keeper. Those atmospheres were electric against Stoke.

Amoo is  steady player but  a bit of a surprise Clarke wants him with his injury issues. Personally glad we have kept legge on. He deserved it after an excellent spell under Clarke. If he is managed correctly as he will be under Clarke and not like under askey he’s still a good experienced player to have.

Not sure who in their right mind is going to come in for Theo and whitehead though

So, assuming Hurst and Taylor are not yet ready, that leaves 7 players available for the first team if Amoo and Gibbons are fit. Quite a few gaps to fill.

I think they’ll be expecting much much more from Taylor this season.
