League 2 Relegation fight

Thing should be a lot clearer for them after Colchester's next 3 games.... Home to Barrow, away at Oldham and home to Walsall. If they are not 'clear' of Southend by then,  their next game is the  tasty little matter of Colchester v Southend. Of course, there are other teams down there (where we were!} that still need points.... fortunately we aren't one of them now.

Big derby too so what a game that could be if it’s close still.

Southend and Grimsby look like they are down.

Difficult to see either side gaining the 6 and 8 points respectively on Colchester in their 6 and 7 remaining games.

One win for Colchester in their 6 games and it requires either side to hit playoff form in their remaining fixtures.

Southend playing Colchester is the caveat but looks 2 of those 3, Grimsby run in looks like curtains for them but Southend have a modest looking run in.

Running into Vale on a 9 win streak isn’t going to help them, that’s for sure.

I can see Southend beating Colchester. Still got a chance. If a few things had been different over the last few weeks they’d already be looking at overtaking!

Oddly Grimsby are on an 8 game unbeaten run and Southend lost 1 in 6... problem is of those 13 games from 14 between them they didn’t lose they’ve still only managed to win 2 with 11 draws which is pretty bonkers.

Only really us and Barrow have been pulling regular wins out in recent weeks to push out of the picture and of course Walsall have been drawing most weeks as have Colchester recently.

Southend host Crawley who have seemingly caved in at the weekend which is winnable, Grimsby to Bradford which is a tough ask. Colchester go to Oldham so could be pivotal, Southend have to win that, a Colchester win at Oldham who are terrible at home and a Southend loss and you’d have to say that’s probably the end of it.
