I was right behind the goal as well. Jepson was a Stoke fan, never scored for us but banged a load of goals in for Huddersfield, that says it all.

I remember that we sold him to Preston and he scored a hat trick on his Preston debut. I thought bloody typical that

What I don’t get about you, and posters like you, is where the anger and vitriol comes from, or what you think it might achieve? Guthrie is a young lad trying to earn a living. He probably knows bette

Jeez, since the game ended all I've seen on here is childish bickering. Some on here need to grow up. A decent point away, I'm happy with that.

Lots of effort and a bit of fight today although I thought we were very poor with the ball.  Disappointing to concede out of nothing - I thought we looked very comfortable up until that point the

From the interview it sounds like Worrall said he wanted to stay on and then Clarke said ok can you give me 10/15 mins.
Must have been in pain first half, he was walking with a slight limp towards the end.

Some of the criticism on hear is utterly bewildering. Crookes was fine, he defended the back stick really well and the only mistake I can remember was when he gave that daft free kick away just in the corner flag. Likewise Guthrie, just doesn’t have a goal in him at the moment, but occupies the defence with his presence, freeing up space for Rodney. We were one mistake away from what would have been the perfect away performance, and that from a player people won’t have a bad word said about.

Agreed.I also think young Mussy did well for an 18 yo making his league debut. He was quite willing to pass the ball instead of just lumping it.Good block from him, congratulated by Scotty, saved a goal.

He started well and then seemed to wither with the rest of the team tbf.

I think one of our big issues at the back is Browns lack of commanding presence. Our defenders have to win the ball else we are done. It’s been highlighted even more this season as neither of the centre halves have been commanding.

Shame cause I love Scotty, he has been brilliant for us.

Ale & The vale saying that Fitz is injured and Monty took a knock the day before the game... may explain why he went with Crookes.

That said, Crookes played ok and was more comfortable as a purely defending left back than one expected to push up a little.

It's interesting that although this thread has some positive, and deserved, comments about Crookes performance yesterday their goal was undoubtedly down to abysmal marking by one of this site's posters 'love in' players.

Wonder what the reaction would have been if it had happened down our left side?

Just saying.

Quite correct Andy. Not for the first time. But, in his defence it was a three against two situation and you could see Joyce hesitate as to which man he should cover the run of, and he picked the wrong option.

Does gibbons do that every week? It was a one off error for who is otherwise one of our best players. That’s why he hasn’t received Criticism.

If it happened down the left side it would have received more of a reaction. Correct. And this would have been rightly so as crookes has made many more errors than gibbons.

Gibbons has been excellent for vale for a long period of time. Crookes and some of the others haven’t. Hence they get more criticism for their more regular errors.

Crikey give the bloke a chance. His remit will be to stay in L2. Yes it’s been a disappointing season as we all thought it would be at least the play offs. If it hadn’t been disappointing JA would still be in charge. Yes the owners have taken a radical decision for PVFC, but don’t forget who put their hands in their pockets to fund this. DC can’t come out and start slating players as he needs to get them all onboard. Let’s judge him when he’s got some players that he has signed. Thank you C&K.   COYW

Fair play mate to give a player you don't rate a fair assessment.

If he plays well like he did sat he will rightly be praised .

Lers hope our conceded column does not go much higher than 50 by end of season .

It was lovely to watch especially first half our team not giving out unwarranted gifts to the opposition .

Still waiting for a goalkeeper on the oppositions team give us a goal and there defence split and let Guthrie run straight through and score ,letsface the goals we have conceded up to yet this season have being mostly no organisation, players not picking up etc .

I'm liking Clarke already as he seems  to me like he wants all the players be up for it and working and that's the least we expect ,however still plenty of work do before seasons end to get the finish of the season Carol and Kevin so utterly deserve .

By that I mean finish strongly
