Thats what I dont see in Guthrie, the desire to bust a gut to either win a ball back or get onto a cross.
I agree. He has held it up well a couple of times and lost it quite badly that once.

They underhit a backpass at one point and if he had bust a gut he could have been slightly late on their keeper but left a little bit on him. Later in the half their keeper had to come out to left back to clear and he did the same casual chase down. If he had left a bit on the keeper the time before he would have thought twice about coming out to clear.

Hurst Hurst Hurst. Really needs to improve his final ball, letting him down massively at the moment.
I can remember 3 attempts at crosses in the half. 1 was blocked, 1 cleared everyone and went out for a gk and 1 went to Worrall and was about an inch too high for him to head it on target.

Even at the top level 1 in 5 is an acceptable standard for sucessful crosses.

Mediocre half but at least we haven't conceded, though Orient are a poor side. What a patched up defence we have - getting nervous every time they attack despite Orient looking as bad as us in attack.

Second half, Conlon needs to get in the game, Hurst needs replacing with Monty and Guthrie with Swan.

And next season, can we please have two centre backs who know how to pass the ball out. Not too much to ask really.

C'mon Vale, if we play it right we can win this.

He also did well to create his shooting opportunity, don’t know what people expect. Worrall has hardly done better.

Guthrie is very similar to Robinson. I’d go as far as saying that Robinson has had the better career.
