Maybe I'm in the minority but I'm still not too worried.  With a draw they will be 8 points behind us, having played the same number of games.  They have averaged less than a point a game for the season, and over the last 5 games.  Also when we played them they looked awful.

Just following the game on Sky text and Southend are playing very well - 10 shots to Cambridge's 4 and 9 corners to Cambridge's 4. What we need is a goal against the run of play!

FT 0-0, two good back to back results for Southend who looked dead and buried when we played them.

0-0 full time.  No shots on target for Southend.  I'm sure that we'd be disappointed with that stat if it was us.

Their next 3 games are Bolton, FGR and Salford.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I'm still not too worried.  With a draw they will be 8 points behind us, having played the same number of games.  They have averaged less than a point a game for the season, and over the last 5 games.  Also when we played them they looked awful.

I was the same, not to concerned but then that’s 4 points in 2 games for sarrrfend

Yes but they had loads blocked and really took the game to Cambridge.

They're now out of the bottom two for the first time this season.

It's going to be a battle at the bottom!

In the past I've seen us put in some battling performances at the bottom, shots blocked, goalies having the game of their lives against us.  Always felt just as deflated after those games as when we got battered.  Sometimes it's the hope that kills you.

We've done reasonably well with our "strongest 1st XI" but for one reason or another, we've been able to put out that team all too infrequently!

I watched a bit of training Friday and Gibbo and Brisley weren't training with the group so hopefully the extra week will give them time to get up to speed

Maybe, but for me there is a big gap between the bottom 3 and the rest.  Those 3 have to be big favourites for the drop.  At the risk of stating the obvious, I think that we will know a lot more by the end of Feb.
