Cricket - India v England series

There was a comment on (I think) the Guardian that said England seem to be picking teams for the previous game. This set-up with three spinners and fewer seamers would have been better for the last Test but for this one, they argue that a fast bowler like Stone may have had some joy.

Exactly. They’ve based this team on the last games pitch and based the last team on the fact they were using a pink ball. (And to be fair that Bess seems way off it) stone / wood should have played in this one

We wont even make 100 in this innings with ashwin and axar Patel pretty much bowling every over of the innings. Bairstows dismissal was a joke was as if he thought he couldn't be arsed anymore and got out on purpose. Sibley actually plays a good shot for once and still ends up getting out. India seem to get alot of luck with these type of dismissals happening where it bounces of a fielders boot or knee and lobs up for a simple catch.

Bairstow should just stick to one day or 2020 cricket. I honestly don't know what to suggest about the batting as apart from root you could make a case to drop all of them. Root the only one with a decent average in this series and he is the only one that averages above 40 in fest cricket. The openers are abysmal pretty much every innings we find ourselves 30 for 3.

The Bairstow dismissal was shocking, as were most of the dismissals.

They've been away from home for a long time and can't wait to get back - and it shows.

It's one of the worst test series I've ever watched. None of the games were close even the one we won was by over 200 runs. We never going score many runs in this 2nd innings as out of the 54.5overs in the innings ashwin and axar Patel bowled 47.5 of them so they never get tired and never bowl bad balls. Ashwin and Patel must have taken 80 % of the English wickets in this series.

What a shambles. Not even a contest that. They should be ashamed of their selves. Bairstow, useless again. Openers can’t play spin. Just awful all round. Again the pitch wasn’t even that bad today. Well done Lawrence who we bloody dropped for the last game!!! Selectors don’t have a clue what they’re doing, team selection wrong in the last and this test. Just rubbish all around. You can’t have your number 4/5 coming in before the 10th over of every innings. One thing is for sure this bloody rotation policy needs scrapping ASAP. You can’t play against the best side in the world in India picking half a side. Players like Bess should be nowhere near a test side.

Ashwin took 32 wickets in the 4 tests and axar Patel 27 wickets in 3 tests so you can see that we struggle against spin massively and it's no surprise that india just kept bowling them pair over and over again.

We'd probably beat India 3-2 or 4-1 if we were playing in our own backyard where spin is far less a feature. The biggest dissapointment is that our batsmen don't seem to have learned one little bit as they've gone along. Too many have been far too eager to be happy to give the responsibility of actually scoring runs to the next bloke in.

Just hope our players try to improve and spend more time improving than they do play call of duty on twitch
