He still has the same job title but does CG still have the same responsibilities / job spec that he did 6 months ago?

Just a secretary now, isn't he?

Point stands that some football expertise is needed at an executive level.

I'm certainly not blaming our current ills on Colin who is a decent bloke and has done a lot of good work during the transition period from Norman to Carol, but I've never been too sure what his remit is bar 'knowing the rules'. He's certainly been a part in a number of less-than-ideal managerial appointments.

So who else are we going to blame next?  It was Askey's fault.  It's Carol's fault.  It's Pugh's fault.  It's Carol's lad's fault?  Now it's Colin Garlick's fault???  Bloody hell this is crazy.

I’m thinking exactly the same we have one very good fan base at times but the majority of the time it’s constant moaning and little digs

carols lads fault is just mental 😂

Then where do you see the problems? What do you think needs to be done? And I respect your opinion, that's why I ask, because I want to hear what a serious Vale feels about the present situation.

I've watched a lot of games this season where the problems were purely down to the players. Pure and simple.  Not the owners, Colin Garlick, Steve Speed or the kit mans cat.  Today I'm looking at Brownie ballsing up, not Pugh or Sinclair.  First and foremost the players should shoulder the blame for where we are and it looks like the staff/owners have seen that and are trying to shuffle the pack as best they can given the restrictions.

And that is Garlick's fault??  He's the bloke, don't forget, who kept us on the right side of the law under the previous owner.

No, I didn’t say it was. But anyone who has any inkling about modern day football knows that January is a critical month. You’ll recall that one particular January saw our best players transferred and resulted in relegation. I believe this was under Colin’s watch. Whilst I have no doubt that he was merely a puppet under Smurthwaite at this time, I’m wondering why he hasn’t used that experience to reiterate the importance of getting January right to our brilliant, but still relatively new, owners?? Our form is what, 2 wins in 15 now, and we look a poor, directionless team if we’re being honest, yet we are a week out before the end of the window, without a permanent manager, yet buying, potentially selling and de-registering all manner of players. Doesn’t strike me as particularly joined up thinking, wouldn’t you agree??

Maybe, just maybe John Askeys comments regarding strange things happening had some legs.

Sure seems like it

He worked with Garlick at Macclesfield. I highly doubt he'd be referring to Colin, especially as they're both quiet blokes who just get on with their jobs and don't try and go outside their remit.

If you're saying both Askey and Garlick have been overruled or sidelined in some way then that's possible. I don't know.
