just a thought-if a person is diagnosed with corvid in say a garden center, (who were obliged to track and trace) EVERYONE who was there at the same time would be obliged to self isloate, do these two cases at vale park mean all staff must self isolate from today?

How unlucky can we be? Hope Pugh makes a very swift recovery.

Fingers crossed he only has it mild so he is well enough to work from home. He could do lots of work scouting the opposition on the telly to help coaches prepare for the games.

No, it’s quite specific who needs to self isolate. It’s within 2 metres for about 15 mins, or less than one meter for any amount of time.

That's a worry,as training sessions, indoors creates a potential issue.

In theory all would isolate you’d think but football for whatever reason has different rules (not against Vale this).

The fact that a football league manager is in hospital with this at the moment does show there is the potential in the game and in my view should stop until the situation is eased. Finish it now start again in March and finish late June/early July may even get fans back by then for the some of the summer games. Start 2021/22 end of August losing 2-3 weeks so less impact than this season but still some
condensing of games.

Not like any sides at this league and the one above are losing swathes of players to the Euro’s!

Found the definition of ‘close contacts’:

* A person living in the same household as a COVID-19 case
• A person having had direct physical contact with a COVID-19 case (e.g. shaking hands)
• A person having unprotected direct contact with infectious secretions of a COVID-19 case (e.g. being
coughed on, touching used paper tissues with a bare hand)
• A person having had face-to-face contact with a COVID-19 case within 2 metres [2] and > 15 minutes
• A person who was in a closed environment (e.g. classroom, meeting room, hospital waiting room, etc.)
with a COVID-19 case for 15 minutes or more and at a distance of less than 2 metres
• A healthcare worker (HCW) or other person providing direct care for a COVID-19 case, or laboratory
workers handling specimens from a COVID-19 case without recommended PPE or with a possible breach
of PPE [3]
• A contact in an aircraft sitting within two seats (in any direction) of the COVID-19 case, travel companions
or persons providing care, and crew members serving in the section of the aircraft where the index case was seated [4] (if severity of symptoms or movement of the case indicate more extensive exposure, passengers seated in the entire section or all passengers on the aircraft may be considered close contacts)

So a goal celebration would be a close contact for example.

However the idea moving forward is some places (I.e the initial plan with schools), was to have daily lateral flow tests for people who were in contact, in order they didn’t have to self isolate. Maybe football teams have something similar in place.

You can't do that it will be the same issue as last summer with players contracts finishing before the season has ended.Potential players not extending at a club to finish the month or clubs cutting the players like Colchester did. If I was a chairman there is no way I would want to commit to pay wages for another month or two especially when there is no guarantee of fans coming back in to provide some revenue.

The best solution is the one we have where the FL are now testing weekly, which is long overdue.  What I do think needs looking at though is the number of players allowed in a squad. To have only 22 players to cover for covid and injuries in a congested season is crazy.

A small 2 week break could be an option but I still think all of the games need to be played within the schedule so that may mean more than 2 matches a week for some as they play catchup.

Sinclair will take this chance. Seems like he's running the show anyway.

Why? I don’t understand these conspiracy theory posts going round about Sinclair. There’s not a single shred of evidence to say he’s been doing anything other than his job. Pretty disrespectful really when I’ve seen nothing to suggest he’s not giving his all in his actual job to help the club.

And anyway, as long as Pugh’s symptoms aren’t too bad, I imagine he’ll still be in charge of game planning and tactics and what not. He’ll need something to keep him busy in isolation after all.

So we now have a stand-in for the stand-in! Only joking.  These things happen--if Danny Pugh has coronavirus, I hope he recovers soon. If it's just precautionary, then he should be back 'in harness' later next week.

with other stand ins waiting!😷:drunk:
