On a short-term deal until the end of the season after his release by Bradford City:

I presume that means Pope may be out for some time. I also suspect that could be the last time we see Theo Robinson in a Vale shirt as another player will need to be de-registered from the squad.

Nice to see most are welcoming. Not arsed what he did or didn't do for the Fruit loop club ay Valley Parade.

If he does his best and notches a few then that will be the proof of the pudding.

And obviously he won't get in immediately ( i assume ) so let us hope people don't jump on him after a 14 minute sub cameo as other players have suffered.

... he would for me... and he wouldn't have to do much to be an improvement on Robinson.

Me too. None of the strikers we have have set the world alight yet have they? Pope is out, Rodney is still learning, Robinson has had multiple chances and done naff all. The only perhaps ahead of him in the pecking order would be Cullen after his decent cameo v Sunderland, but even then I wouldn't rule out putting him straight in.

You say he won’t get on immediately, I’m not so sure.

striker wise we’re down to the bare bones, Pope out, Robinson doing jack <ovf censored> and now possibly deregistered,Cullen just back after a lengthy lay off and Rodney subbed at ht last week with a knock.

i think we could see him starting, he will have been in full training at Bradfud, so no fitness issues.

Just thought too late into the day to integrate for tomorrow and i think Pugh will be flexible with formations. I expect Rodney to start and Guthrie be sub.

I know we won there last season but 4-4-2 would be madness tomorrow.

Not bothered what he did or didn't do for Bradford(sometimes things just dont work out at clubs) or what their fans say(we have heard it before about players who turned out decent for us),if we get the player who played for Stevenage, who ripped us a new one down here then he will do for me. Has some pace as well for a big lad

Exactly, Colchester fans rate Theo, but he's done nowt here, and Scott Quigley looked a different player than the one I remember. As long as Guthrie puts a shift in, the fans will back him..Oh and scores a few goals..

Surely it'll be Pope de-registered rather than Theo?

This could be a very good signing with the quality of balls coming in from Worrall and Hurst. Lets hope hes the goalscorer that we need to push us up the table.
