Difficult game tomorrow against a team that plays good football with plenty of fluidity. They haven't played this year and their last game was on the 29th December, when they lost at home to Crawley.I'm not sure whether that's a good thing or not, they could be fresh as daisies or a bit stale and slow off the mark, let's hope for the latter. In this window they have lost Carl Winchester to Sunderland and Liam Kitching to Barnsley but signed Isaac Hutchinson on loan from Derby and Baily Cargill from MKD,let's hope they don't fit in either.

Joking apart,I think that new signing Guthrie will pay up front with Rodney and we'll play 3-5-2 to try and nullify their strength in midfield. My midfield would be Worrall,Conlon,Taylor,Joyce,Monty, with a back three of Mills,Smith and Brisley.

Hopefully, this line up will be good enough to get a result and keep us moving up the league.

Crossed my mind that he might go 352 but, if he does, I'm not sure I'd let Mills anywhere near such a key defensive position. Not much in it, but Crookes might be a better option. Inconsistent, I know, but better than Mills I think.

We'll soon see!

Good point,I also thought about Smudge on the right of a back three with Leggy in the middle and Brisley on the left.Either way Wozza and Monty will be expected to help out by tracking back.

We'll see what they decide to do.

They are very ambitious and have over 100 staff, which seems to be a lot for such a small club?

Loads of money, but it's paying off. Got to be the long-term objective.

My mantra has been the same for ages - you can have the best coaches, sports science, commercial, communications, community staff in the world, but you aren't going to win games if your players aren't very good. The best way to get good players is to have a 50%+ hit rate in recruitment.

Legge is suspended again today.

I like the idea of 3 at the back against their 2 up front to have a spare man, but if we're going to do that we need balance of Crookes, Brisley, Smith. We've said since before we signed him his best position is probably left of a 3, so if we finally try a back 3 and still leave him out, why did we buy him? (Rhetorical question, don't answer that!) Also feel it was one reason for giving Smudge some time at RB, sometimes without all RBs being injured, so he's potentially more comfortable on the right of a 3.

Like the idea of Woz and Monty either side, but perhaps not today given their LW, probably needs a specialist RB, so given Gibbo still out that means Mills (with Smudge sweeping behind and Woz helping back). So almost a 3-3-3-1 for me,

Brown

Smith-Bris-Crooks

Mills-Joyce-Monty

Woz-Taylor-Conlon

Rodney

With lots of high energy players (Taylor, Woz, Monty especially) to get up and support Rodders, and plenty of options on the bench, including Guthrie, Amoo, Hurst if fit.

Edit: Crap, didn't realise it was 2pm already, or that Monty and Woz were out.

Eek.

I assume we have de-registered someone to allow Guthrie to play. Pugh was fairly clear that he was in the plans for today.

I just really want us to start winning a few games of football. Been a miserable few months for us.

Pugh didn't say anything about Rodney's fitness so do we assume he's fit?

I think with the signing of Taylor, the captaincy of Conlon, and the undeniable importance of Joyce, it looks like 433 is the preferred option, but then you have to leave out one of Worrall, Hurst, Rodney, and Guthrie.

obvious who-theo🤓🤤🤤!
