Like she did last night you mean, I must have not listened right, I am sure she said players had rang her. Yes that's in house.

I was just pointing out that Carol was getting criticised on here for what she said because it should have been kept in house - and I think she was ill advised - but Tom can say what he likes. Double standards.

I don't like taking a pop at our 'own' and I consider all three: Carol, TP and JA as our 'own'.

All I can say is that since the recent departure, I'm not impressed with the PR our  club is seemingly chasing. Carol's interview raised more questions about our club than I could have imagined. I am now genuinely concerned.

I console myself that matters can't get worse than a few years ago, can they?

I think Jean, Tom at the time was in a mess, for whatever reason, and he was letting vale fans know why. But if what Askey did was true, very poor.

He was drinking a lot and tweeting things he shouldn't even though he knew it was wrong and then he wonders why he lost the captaincy and wasn't being picked. That's what I took from that interview.

That is what I thought, and was telling us he was not in a very good frame of mind. We are all great in hindsight, but life is not like that, if everyone was open and honest, would we be better off? Who knows.

I'm not having that. He;d just scored against Man City , everything was rosy. His tweet remember was the very same night.

How is that not a good frame of mind, if so he should of asked not to be selected !!

It’s a bit explosive that interview but very frank and deep from the heart.

Sadly sounds like his season is now over due to the injuries last night but hope he does wear the shirt again, even if a testimonial.

The captaincy thing sounds a complete and utter mess in the way it was handled.

So sidewipe at Askey, slagged off Richie Bennett and then jumps on Mental Health bandwagon which is an insult to people who genuinely suffer.

Bit over the top that mate. Reads like you’re looking for headlines yourself. Football is all about being strong mentally, of course a lot of what went on was self inflicted, but even so if he can’t come out and say that was a hard period in his career, through him not playing and losing the captaincy, without someone sticking the boot in then it’s a real shame.

His relationship with Askey was no secret but he didn’t slag him off as badly as he could have done and what he said about Bennet was spot on too, what he said is nothing that players don’t say to each other anyway.

Dont comment on here much as it's the same as the social media groups, people who dont like certain staff/players insult them. Staff/players they like are praised or exempt of any negative feedback. Fans moan for lack of communication then moan when the owner and a vale legend and true supporter of the club accept a local radio interview and tell it how it is. Popey clearly felt a bit low at not being able to play and try get 3pts for his beloved club, said that due to lack of playing time felt the captaincy should be for a 'regular'. Nothing he said was derogatory to anyone, he simply put his feelings across.

You are on about that one tweet, he was on about a period of time. Did you listen to the interview or not?

The club is coming off a poor run and a controversial sacking. Communications should, in my view, be kept low-key whilst the manager position is sorted. Fans are still angry and looking to blame people for what appears to be a lost season.

We win one game and we have radio interviews all over the show, sharing things that are probably best kept quiet. We have the Chairlady and club legend effectively endorsing the interim before any real appointment process has started. Some veiled comments about the previous manager from Tom. Carol's misjudged 'phonecall' comment.

Carol and Tom have a right to say what they want, but if you're going to say the things they have, they can expect a varied response, especially at times like this.

I wish they'd kept their heads down and won some games of football, and got a manager in place. Sometimes, despite the odd moan about 'needing to hear something', it's best to say nothing and let results do the talking.

Yes i did, so 5 weeks or so before he nets a hat trick that gets us the City tie, then he scores the goal at City. Then he tweets.

It is a cop out , the bloke courts controversy, he is NOT bigger than Port Vale .

I do accept that people accusing players, including Pope, of 'downing tools' is ridiculous and I understand his frustration on that front.

Unfounded accusations, and as much as I have criticised Pope, I don't think I'd ever accuse him of not trying.
