It is a Mickey Mouse cup , and I think it should be scrapped, but a run to the final at this stage would  help to finance new signings to replace several wasters who are out there tonight. An oxymoron of sorts. Injuries are another issue. I hope Hurst is ok.

The greatest cup win this club has had is a Micky mouse cup? I don’t remember thinking that when it was the auto glass or LDV vans.

Just checked and it's a 6pm kick off this one. So don't get caught out.

Lightweight.

Seriously does anyone truly believe that Pugh will play that same 11 away from home again in the league? Not a chance on this earth will he. Seems like some are just using that side as an excuse

People need to calm down.

We win a game and people are bouncing off the ceiling, lose a game and people are suicidal. Believe it or not there is more to life than the Vale although it doesn't always feel that way.

It's God awful one of the worst performances I have seen from a vale team. But it is almost our reserves against a team that have players that played in the premier league for them and 400k signings. We were always going to be up against it tonight. If we lose we lose but life goes on.

People go on about players not trying but there are very few players in the professional game who don't give it their all when they are on the pitch. If you don't give it your all you either don't make it or are incredibly talented and wasting it by playing at our level.

Sometime things just don't go for you. The confidence of a lot of our players is shot and it will take more than beating Grimsby to restore it.

We need a couple of games where we score the late goal to level or win it or where we come from behind. Saturday was a start but Rome wasn't built in a day.

What’s frustrating is, Sunderland have been bang average. But they’ll not have an easier game all season when we have absolutely no interest in attacking.

Yes, we aren’t playing our first team. But we could at least try to compete a bit and try and play some football.

If no change to our shape is made second half and we continue playing like this, I’ll be absolutely furious.

I disagree. It’s the manner of the performance. If we lost giving it a go, I’d say fair enough, they’ve got better players than us.

But the way we are playing, we aren’t even attempting to beat them. It’s pathetic.

You say that, but I would say 7 of the starting players have been amongst our most used players this season, on top of which we have brought Monty on.

I think we look like a disorganised team that has hardly played together and that’s exactly true of this line up that’s been picked tonight.

I don't mind if we loose a match at Vale.  I am well used to it.  It's the nature of the loss.  If we try and the players do their best then I can live with that.  Play like they have been and it grips me as you know they can play better.  This is just poor from them.

In fairness I though Sunderland were excellent. Lots of quick passing.

As good as they were though we were awful.

What?

Visser and Robinson aside this is a team of regular starters.

It's the fact we've made 7 changes and played like a non-league side. I wasn't bouncing off the ceiling on Saturday and I'm not suicidal tonight, but you enjoy the hyperbole.

No issue with being 1-0 down but I want to be at least competitive.

Rome wasn't built in a day isn't an excuse for getting battered by Sunderland reserves in the Papa Johns. Rubbish, this. Sick of losing.

He hasn't played in however long because he's absolutely <ovf censored>. Along with Whitehead he should be the first out the door as soon as possible.

Completely agree

Surely Pugh can't afford to be making 7 changes if he needs to win as many games as possible to get the job? Seems a very comfortable position to take for a man who should be fighting tooth and nail for the job.

He probably listened to Carol's interview on Radio Stoke last night, and is thinking he's got it for the season (at least)?

(only joking, before anyone starts crying on here!..............she'd most likely already told him before the interview!)
