The players and staff are fully aware, regardless of what Pugh might ramble in the paper. It just hasn't been announced yet, and won't be until next week.

Im friends with a couple of the players and they dont have a clue ahaha

How far back are you going??? Blackpool ???

If we are looking at his career, he did well at Millwall too for a time. In fact, before then he had never been sacked from a managerial role. The 2nd period at QPR and Grimsby were failures but mitigating circumstances were that they were failing financially with QPR not having the money it had and Grimsby didn’t get the investment promised.

There is a big difference between Holloway who has had a career built across many clubs at all levels and some of these managers who have done well at 4th division clubs on small budgets but remain at small 4th Div clubs because the bigger boys don’t want them.

It won’t be Holloway, but someone in his mould, like Micky Adams, is the key to success.

Unless it’s neither then you’re £20 down

All too true... Vissers agent who was very angry on Twitter about his injury is now saying he knows who it is... when the three names of Cowley, McGreal and Flitcroft are mentioned he says it’s one of those 3 but not Cowley.

Will be really underwhelmed if it's Flitcroft. Strikes me as the kind of guy who can talk a great game in an interview but has never really delivered anywhere he's been.

Was ploughed with funds at Bury which saw them promoted & eventually go bump... had loads of money at Mansfield, failed to get promoted from league 2.

Relegated at Bolton (admittedly an impossible job that season) Sacked by Barnsley & left Swindon part way through a season when moneybags Mansfield came calling...

Can anybody change my mind & make me feel more optimistic? Whoever the new guy is he will get my backing but just don't see the clamor for Flitcroft... or McGreal for that matter.

McGreal did okay at Colchester... got a side who would be expected to be in the playoffs into the playoffs then lost. Nothing special & no previous management experience before the Colchester job either.

So your criteria for doing well is 14 wins in 62 games?  Thank heavens you're not making the appointment.

He saved the club from relegation from the Championship. They looked doomed at the time. That’s the difference, a guy who has worked at a high level, or some blokes at clubs that at best may enjoy a season or two at league 1 level.
