I would argue his achievements, Grimsby aside, dwarf those of all these 4th division managerial titans that keep being banded about on here.

You know what 4th division managers are good at? Managing and being in the 4th division.

If that’s what we want for Vale, then fine.

How far back are you going??? Blackpool ???

Holloway hasn't had a crumb of success in 7 years.

The state he's left Grimsby in will most likely see them in non-league next season.

I'm alright.

Luckily it wont be him not in a million years and i state here and now if it is Holloway i will sit naked in the paddock for the first game we are let in(will probably be my last as well)

Whoever it is, let's hope that the precious little darlings that we seem to have on the playing staff take to him, or things won't change in the short term. Absolutely ridiculous how much power some of our players seemingly have, even more so when you consider most only have 5 months left on their contracts! Shape up or bugger off

Amazing isn’t it... the poster doesn’t want vale to be “charity” but wants us to fund Holloway’s media career for a few years despite him being past it!

Nowt as queer as folk!

Re Robinson, a quote from my mate, a ST holder at Motherwell.

”He’s a good motivator and comes across well Dave. He will get the team fit and organised depends on the players he has available on type of football he plays mate. When we had hard workers in team 4 4 2 with long ball when a bit of flair 4 3 3 with  speedy wingers so he adapts to the players he has Dave . He prefers 4 3 3 usually with 3 speedy front men interchanging “

Looks like only 2 names in it now.... Flitcroft and McGreal so who would we prefer out of the two as its highly likely one of them

Not a chance doesn't fit the remit Carol has stated lacks experience no promotions only was successful due to being under 23 coach and having the ability to blood them through whilst being 1st team manager emoji460.png

Not sure you can say he doesn’t fit the remit... there is a good post earlier breaking down how he absolutely does.

It depends on your definition of success I guess... if that’s purely promotion then that would have been easy enough to say... but success can cover a multitude including getting to the playoffs. Billy Beane of Moneyball fame was considered one of the best and most successful baseball general managers of his era when the Yankies tried to poach him... made the World Series but hadnt won it when they came knocking.
