Hurst is experienced and lost his first two, Holloway before him was experienced and look at the mess he left, Sam Allardyce hasn't actually started well at WBA has he ? Pulis at Sheffield Wed. is another one, experience guarantee's nowt.

This is why I can't get my head round why so many seem to know who we should or shouldn't have. It's like saying Carol should appoint the next manager  based on the majority opinions of fans on here and stuff the professionally structured interviews, though the thought of Holloway does frighten me to death,  based on the Grimsby fans comments.  Look, even I'm doing it now!

Don't think I've seen anyone say to give Pugh the job. Maybe the odd one or two.

Consensus is it was a good start for him, some positives, too early to make a call, but it gives Carol time to carefully make her decision; all of which are good things.

So The Cowleys to drop into Div.2 for a couple of seasons with the proviso that they also employ Pugh and Sinclair ? and when they've learned the ropes the Cowleys will bugger off, yeah right.

The Cowleys wouldn't be dropping into Lge 2 - they're out of work. They seem, from what one of them has said, that they might be looking for a new project - sometimes, ambition is worth more than cash? They wouldn't be learning the ropes with the Vale, but might be persuaded to give an insight into their methods, which could then be passed on to our own team. Nothing to say that it would only be 2 years - but, if they did a good job at the Vale, no doubt another, bigger club would come knocking for them...and, then, we would be in a reasonable position to carry on with their philosophy.

If that management team seems too large, Pugh and Sinclair would carry on with their coaching roles, but be involved with management meetings?

I remember that time, many moons ago when John McGrath, who’d done well, then had a bad run of results was sacked. Of course, the board did the lazy thing and gave it to some unknown understudy who proceeded to “lead us” to relegation. Mad decision all those years ago, will we never learn?

They're going Wrexham once the takeover is completed

An expensive manager means less money for the playing squad.

Athletico Madrid know they can't compete with Real and Barcelona on the playing wages so make sure they pay the best managerial wage to keep one of the best managers in the game at their club.

But unless we're getting a special manager in like the Cowley's then I'd rather a cheap but effective option. That may well prove to be Pugh, who has the respect of the players and decent contacts, or someone like Heskey. But whilst the likes of Holloway or Adkins might have experience, I don't think they'd prove value for money. Personally.

As we're not going to get relegated or promoted I'd be happy seeing us give a chance to an inexperienced manager. We could always go for a change in the summer if he proved to be a disaster.

Is that a rumour or an assumption because of the American money?
