If we were in the market for an up and coming non league manager, then I think we should look closer to home, at Phil Parkinson who is doing a superb job at Altrincham.

We aren't in for any non league manager

On that subject though the chesterfield manager(james rowe) is getting rave reviews and they reckon league clubs are keeping an eye on him

As is David Martindale in his first manager role at Livingston 78% win rate

Hes got an interesting background!!!!

He played at Junior level for Linlithgow Rose and West Calder United[1] and had business interests in the hospitality sector,[2] but after a pub he owned went on fire without insurance cover he also became heavily involved in organised crime,[3] specifically the large-scale supply of cocaine as well as money laundering.[3][4] He was arrested in April 2004 following a police operation;[5][1] while awaiting trial, he enrolled at Heriot-Watt University to undertake a degree in construction project management.[2][6]

Martindale was imprisoned in November 2006,[1][7] serving four years (and also having around £100,000-worth of assets seized as proceeds of crime),[8] then completed his degree following his release.[2] In football, he played for Whitburn in the East Region Juniors[9] then became assistant manager at Broxburn Athletic.[2][10][11]

Martindale just had to be approved as a fit and proper person, didn't he?

I don’t see the issue tbh. Clearly has a bad past but he did his time in prison. Prison is supposedly meant to rehabilitate so maybe it has. If he’s turned his life around fair play to him, deserves his go. I’d rather not have him though cus he’s not experienced enough for me.
