I think she is thinking long term on all of her appointments as she knows what she wants for the football club and she wants us to be the best we can be at all levels and is all about building for the future,we are very lucky to have them as our owners imo

Carsley sounds like he could be a good appointment, he’s now 4/5 but let’s not forget DF was 1/8. Yes if ppl have been throwing chunks on knowing who the new manager will be it could be deemed as gaining a pecuniary advantage which yes is a criminal offence. If there’s irregular betting the markets will be closed down. It’s like someone putting bets on Scottish football, no one has an interest in Scottish football so it’s suspicious. I can recall our pre season friendlies being against Scottish teams

I can't imagine many people put heavy bets on a new manager and all that do are supporters of a club. Much prefer the jumps. I'd guess a very small number of bets lead to a big move in the odds.

Re : Carsley, there is a huge delta between being a coach of some of the most talented young footballers where the main focus is to improve them,  to being a manager of a league 2 club where results are the main (only) focus of the fan base.

Sure he can put on some of the best coaching sessions possible, but man managing pros at our level is different, as is pitting his wits against other managers / teams who's next mortgage payment depends upon results.

If it is him then hopefully he can adapt quickly.....

To be honest I'm not overly impressed by either but its pretty clear we are looking for a coach rather than a manager so they both fit the bill.

Bob, I totally agree with your comments if he was to come to Vale. Also a lot of players at that age then go onto play football in L1, L2 or even lower. Perhaps we are to become development club. I hope that isn’t the case, as I see it then we will lose our identity and may as well have EPL ‘B’ teams in the league, which I’m strongly against.

The sad thing is no matter who the new manager is OVF will need a new thread for the " Footballing experts " to vent their anger/ disappointment/disgust and lack of ambition.

I think a Carsley/Flitcroft team would be really good and push us in the right direction. Carsley may not have managed a league club, but thats where Flitcroft comes in.  If this happens i'll be very pleased.

Yes I'd support that too let's hope Roy of the Rovers who has never posted before lol ,well if he as then I've never seen his posts his right and 16.00 hrs tomoz we will indeed Unveil the manager be buzzing if so UTV but something tells me it's a wind up lmao
