Can't see the club appointing him with that track record. Win ratio overall 33.8% and 10.3% while at Chesterfield. Win ratio isn't everything, I know, but that's pretty appalling.

He certainly doesn't tick any of the boxes imo but all the young coaches mentioned do seem to

TBH, with how the season has panned out and how long this has dragged on for with so many rumours & speculation, the appointment of a DOF, it’s become boring and I don’t care anymore.
its like being promised a birthday present that you’ve wanted for so long and then you find it’s not going to be delivered in time for your birthday and the delivery date just keeps being put back

Carsley is with england under 20s isnt he? Be a cracking appointment underneath the experience of flitcroft. Be lovely to feel positive about the vale for once rather than talks or bloody Caldwell as manager

Carsley would be a real coup, especially with the DOF set up and his credentials as a coach. If it turns out true, then it suggests that carol has played a blinder, and not rushed into a panic appointment and maybe is thinking long term with this, and it making sure she gets it right.

Professional Development Lead for England U18/U19/U20 and Head Coach for the U20s.

Was also assistant to Boothroyd for the U21s.

He's obviously well thought of at the FA.
