I wasn't sure if a Director in name only. It's just that he has a few successful businesses and so that type of background would be useful too, I reckon

Listed with the other Directors in the Boardroom on the official site, seems like a director to me.

It's not, obviously. The applicants are already there, we've been told that, and many of them are highly experienced and ambitious. We've been told that too.

So why on earth do we need yet another person on the payroll to select the right one?

Let's knock this "we" stuff on the head, shall we? It's up to the owners what we can or can't afford...if a bit of forward planning and investment now saves money, time and resources in the future, then that's up to them...but, probably, a good thing.

As we stand now, if an experienced guy like John McGreal came in as manager, that would leave Dave Flitcroft to get on with the job of sorting out our footballing infrastructure; if a young, hungry guy came in, I'm sure DF would work more closely with him for the first few months?

DF was after the job as Manager. Having discovered the need for a Director of Football, and accepting that challenging position, doesn't mean he will relinquish working with the squad - the amount of input he has will depend on the experience of the new Manager?

I'm looking forward to seeing this model evolve!

I'm going to throw a name who I think would fit in with our new approach who has been very successful...  Stephen Robinson.

If he is willing to come down to L2 after his 3 years at Motherwell remain to be seen but a "project" like ours might just tempt him to come back to England along with knowing the support he would get from the club.

He ticks all of Carol's boxes.
