What I'd like - Adam Murray with or without a DoF with proven experience and a track record of bringing in quality young players at a lower level.

What I'm expecting - McGreal/Murray with a DoF of some description

Be pretty happy with either as manager, but the DoF thing needs to be gotten right of they are gonna do it.

Director of football with managers who have never worked under such a structure? Not going to work. Simply stupid. If this was a Norman Smurfwaite move we’d be calling it out for what it is, knee jerk stupidity. 
 

People defending this are just blind Carol sycophants willing to support any old crap. 
 

A director of football has never, ever worked at English 4th div level. It usually gets used as an option by power mad chairmen like say at Newcastle United where they had Dennis Wise/Kinnear. 

The reason it gets chosen is the hope the manager sticks to coaching and the board or owner can directly manage the transfers.

Well it seems no one is in the know this time ,good whatever it is or whoever it is hope it's good news for the faithful and hopefully the news that triggers the players into playing as we know they should and maybe bringing them who have fell out either back together or not in the same team again together .

I look forwards to it whatever it is .

If it's a vote of confidence in Danny Pugh then I beg to differ I have no confidence in him at all

Wouldn't it be fun if there were 3 or 4 candidates there and we all have to phone in to vote for who we want. All money raised will help pay wages and if it goes Tats up in 1 or 2 years time Carol can come on here moaning about how we picked the wrong guy and that she never wanted him in the first place.

Absolutely rubbish.

Clubs in the league 2 with a DoF right now (under one title or another) :

Bradford, Cheltenham, Colchester, Crawley, Leyton Orient, Mansfield, Oldham, Salford.

Swindon promoted last year with a director of football. Lincoln the year before the same.

But yeah, it's all about power mad chairman wanting to keep control

I feel like a club did do that once, I read an article about it the other week but I'm struggling to remember who it was
