Managers are judged on results, but  do they set the team out to beat the opposition , change tactics as the game develops, substitute to events on the field as well as injuries, But they only have the players registered and have no control over injuries and referees. Could be a brave man taking over from the caretakers at Valley Parade.

You got me there Pal, my point is ......Them blarting that we have to have an experienced manager can they explain how the two caretakers at bradford have managed to do so well 8 games unbeaten and winning at Exeter so far today

I have no problem with a caretaker growing into a job, if he shows he is capable of doing the job and getting results, it can be less of a risk than bringing an outsider in. Confidence grows as a person grows into the job. Picking managers is risky, some work some dont.

unfortunately I don’t think this is the big “gotcha” moment you think it is! Bit of a lesson in not believing the first thing you read.

The cook to Sheff wednesday story is an interesting one where he claims to have spoken to them but they only offered him a short term deal.

What you have done is believe the Crazy Sheff Wed chairman, which with his reputation would be like believing Norman. You did it with dignity though with all your laughing faces so at least you don’t look silly! 😂😂😂😂😂

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/theathletic.com/news/exclusive-paul-cook-rejects-sheffield-wednesday-job/KizWeJPZGReY%3famp=1

From another article...

Cook told Sky Sports News: ‘It’s a difficult question when you’re an out-of-work manager because you have to be respectful to people that are in work and talk about jobs that are available.

‘I think on both of those jobs and those situations, I would have had contact from the clubs. Where that contact went to obviously wasn’t where I would have liked it to go to.

Despite Cook’s claims there has been contact over the Wednesday job and he’d been offered a deal, Chasiri was adamant he’d not been in contact with the man.

Hows Derek by the way?

Askey lost his job because of the results and transfer windows. It’s as simple as that. Not because people on forums and Facebook / Twitter wanted him gone. He was rightly sacked (too late) due to results, performances and signings.

You're entitled to your opinion. I stand by the view that it was a panic move.

Adams played for Stoke didn’t he? Was it a loan?

"Adams never played under Ball and was loaned out to Stoke City in March 1994 until the end of the season.[7] He scored three goals in ten games for the "Potters", but did not join the club on a permanent basis as the management staff refused to allow him to help out as a coach at the club's academy.[6]"

Yeah, could have been a sliding doors moment actually. Maybe he'd have ended up managing Stoke instead of Macari or something
