I'd be happy with McGreal if it happens, although im hoping we have a plan C if he doesnt come.

You would have thought the financial package would have been discussed and sorted by now. Could there be a better offer from elsewhere?

Highly unusual for Facebook that.

To be honest Garlick was quite evasive when asked earlier, saying we’d concentrated on it being deadline day today rather than the managerial situation.  It sounded very much like we’re happy to wait.  It could all be mind games.  For all we know it may not be dead with Flitcroft just thing have hit a logjam.

I can't really say where from mate, but as far as I have been told by a pretty good source, unless we up our offer it's McGreal or bust.

What I would add it that the young defender appears to be very much a Pugh signing which may, or may not, be an indication the route the owners were taking, short term at least.

My prediction is:

Go back to McGreal, who is either unhappy at being second choice or similarly unhappy with the wage package on offer. Turns us down.

Offer it to Pugh again, he may or may not accept.

If he doesn't, look down the discarded shortlist from last week and pick a name out of them.

Repeate this whole process again this time next year when this manager has us sitting in 18th

I read somewhere recently that the average was £80k so its the upper end easily.
