The same people who refused to accept that Askey wasn't doing a very good job after 6 points in 36 and think he was 'hounded out' by fans who can't attend games, are also creating conspiracy theories by combing through Pope's weekly column with a magnifying glass and working with the FBI to find evidence of some grand conspiracy, coordinated by Pope, ably assisted by McKirdy, Robinson, Clark, and Sinclair, with technical support from Carol's son and the inside mole in Pugh.

Vale.

Just watching football focus now and Danny Cowley is on. Probably due to Lincoln cup exploits but he is rather higher profile than we ever have.

Sadly I'd imagine we've not a prayer of him being in the frame

Danny Cowley is distancing himself from the Wednesday job, due to their owner.

Unfortunately there isn't a prayer of him coming here.

There are three options

1) Older head coming off a bad job

2) Inexperienced fella with good ideas but a big risk

3) Danny Pugh wins the next two

Each one will attract ire. We just have to trust Carol's process.

Vale.

Popey will eventually get a coaching role at his boyhood club when his career ends and it will be well deserved.

Did he say they were looking for the right owner and another project?

He was my first choice ahead of Alexander but he was always more likely to have greater ambitions than a League Two club.

I watched that, I thought it was Nicky Cowley his brother and the way he talked, I thought never in a million years would we have the two of them at Vale Park, way out of our league, even the way Michael Appleton was talking I couldn't help thinking when was the last time we had a manager who was bright and spoke with clarity about what he wanted from his team ?
