Ill be honest, I can’t say I’ve noticed a big difference between how eloquent Wayne Rooney and Stephen Gerard are compared to heskey. I’m not saying i want him as manager, i have no idea what his credentials are, or what his style of management would be, but I just don’t see what the difference is.

Both Rooney and Gerrard show passion, if nothing else. Heskey has absolutely nothing about him. Obviously they were both far better players than Heskey ever was too. If I was a footballer I know which of the three I would least like to play for...

1)One of the top 6 in the betting will be the next manager.I will be surprised if it isn’t.

2) Correct but that also depends who it is.

Joe,what you also need to take into account is the leaks that continually come out of VP.

Murray or Pugh short term then

We may have done under two of the most incompetent chairmen of recent times in Bratt and Smurthwaite, but I have no idea what makes you so certain this will occur again, bar unsubstantiated presuppositions about Pugh/Heskey.

I believe the owners do have a pot to p*ss in, as well, despite the different financial climate they are operating under.

The proof will be in the pudding with who we recruit as the next manager. But I'm not any more optimistic we'll actually get a decent manager in then I have been previously.

There is ...

Well, he turned down the opportunity of assisting Danny Pugh, so I'm told.

The youth team haven't won all season and he is a laughing stock at Hereford (or Hednesford, can't remember) for the way it went with their youth team.

No way can I see it being him based on that.

If its the quality of the footballer that matters, Heskey played over 60 times for England. There aren’t many players who achieve that. As for passion, I don’t know what we judge that on, or if its necessarily a good indicator. Like i said, he wasn’t on my radar, but I don’t see why he would automatically be bad compared the people I named. I suppose my point is, all the great managers had to start somewhere, and its hard to say how good they would be until they are given the chance.

We're in League Two facing a possible relegation battle on current form...? We may as well be playing a different sport compared to the guys above taking over at top-level clubs.

I understand, but wasn’t Cowley a PE teacher before he got his break? The managers of the top two teams in our league had no league managerial experience before their current job. I’m not saying we should go for Heskey at all. I’m saying that why can’t vale do that? If we go for experience then we have managers who have failed a number of times and people will moan. If we go for a young manager, then he wont have experience and people will moan. THere is going to be a compromise somewhere.

Well I just hope and pray that Heskey isn't given the chance here. We need someone who has done something, not a chancer learning the trade.

Danny Pugh flying in to 6/4 favourite at the moment. I wouldn’t mind Pugh if we were to appoint a more experienced assistant with him. I’d defo prefer Pugh over Sinclair who failed two steps below us.

Why would you accept Pugh? Have we really stooped so low that we're okay to give people their first role in such a position?

Pugh shouldn't even be a consideration.

I've noticed that the youth team results have been really bad this season.

Is Sinclair in charge of coaching the youth team (not sure what his role actually is - Development Manager or something similar? - supposedly bridging the gap between youth team to 1st team squad?)
