Danny Pugh & Frank Sinclair maybe?

Not sure as this was only one game and Grimsby are currently having a mare so we should have taken the points.

See how the Tuesday and next Saturdays game goes before thinking maybe they should be given a chance.  Just worried that we could be falling into the same trap as before, going for the cheap option and inexperienced manager and asst manager.

Good win,

But Monty I dont think is the answer at left back, our weakest link today I thought

With Monty, there are positives and negatives.

He offers a good workrate, battles hard, and opens up the flanks by supporting Hurst. He nearly scored an excellent goal, denied by a great save.

The limitations to him are the tendency to overdo things, an erratic/unique manner of playing football, and he is caught out once or twice a game.

For now, the positives outweigh the negatives, and he'll do.

I was just posing the question.  Have a sneaking suspicion that Carol may give them a few matches trial--much easier and quicker than recruiting.  If I'm correct, let's hope it's successful!

Not at all, but unlike you I don't go overboard for a decent performance. Based on today, I presume the likes of yourself will be championing a new 2 year deal for him? He was ok today, granted, but where have you been for the past 6-7 of his games where he's been gash?

It causes you physical pain to praise TP, doesn't it?

Back to within 6points of play-off place, but played more games than most.

Calm down, they are probably the worst side we have played. We did well and got the job done, we’ve got a huge test up next let’s see how we do in that. We’re miles off the play offs

Feels great to have 3 points and clean sheet but steady on with the p words.... It's a start.

Agreed--I'm not getting carried away--only 8 points separates us from bottom two and, as I said, we've now played more games than most.  However, points in the bag are always nice to have.

Delighted with the win. Crucial for us and badly needed.

All the players seemed to buy into Pugh's management style and put in a big shift. Good to see. Well done one and all.

I still think we need a defender and a midfield destroyer. We really shouldn't be conceding possession to poor teams like that on our home patch.

But after the past few weeks that was a great and important victory. By three clear goals too! We haven't done that very often.

Delighted for Pugh and everyone at the Club. It was badly needed.

Pope and Rodney will cause teams problems. Good to see Worrall and Conlon back. And even the subs put in some hard running. It was good to see.

So Paul Hurst is appointed manager of Grimsby, a manager a lot of us would not have been disappointed had he come here, he's lost his first two games, just shows how difficult it is to choose a manager.

Beggars can’t be choosers when you are as low in division 2.

Meow!

" He was ok today, granted. "

Scored the first, would have gotten the 3rd had the defender not turned it in.

I will wait for saturdays team news with great interest.

I was impressed how Pugh handled the subs and formation changes today.

Im never normally a fan of 442 but it worked a charm and games against teams in 23rd at home are exactly when it should be deployed... get into them! A fully fit manny in place of Joyce and that looks lovely as an attacking side.

I wouldn’t however play it away at FGR.

Will Danny show us he is a 442 man, or will he adapt and go 4231 or 433 next Saturday. If he does, I would be happy!

Well done today Danny... Brilliant!
