Can’t get carried away with that.... they are 23rd the league, we should be winning them.

Fuming with the players, all the <ovf censored> coming out of Legge and Popes mouth about playing for Askey and nothing going on behind the scenes, what a load of lies. It’s disgraceful and they should hang their heads in shame.

Let’s hope they carry on giving it a go, we need an Experienced manager in for Me.

Well done Conlon for picking up the armband, very well deserved, always gives his all and plays at least a 6 out of 10 each week.

That was pleasing. We had a plan b before the 85th minute.

We never had a plan B before.

Great to see Pugh and Co willing to take a risk and change the side around a bit during the early 2nd half to start closing Grimsby's chances, as they started to probe more.  This would not have happened previously.  We would have just kept on playing the same style and hoped they would not score.

Still not convinced playing 442 with the current players.  Grimsby had far too much of the ball in good areas first half for my liking.  Second half our change of formation changed that but meant we created less.

If we all stop bickering ladies and gents and breathe a sigh of relief tonight.

Whether you like or dislike Askey, Pope or Worrall etc we have got a monkey of our back.

We were in freefall and I was desperately concerned that we may be within touching distance of the bottom 2 this evening.

Let's hope that we can stop looking at Southend Grimsby and Stevenage results and steady the ship towards calmer waters

We aren't suddenly world beaters and they are pretty shocking at the moment, but as we have a poor recent record against them it's a great win

Let's savour a rare good afternoon and save the nit picking and bickering for our next defeat

Rejoice for we have won

Agree with the comments about getting the game played today - kudos to the ground staff when other games were frozen off.  It was crucial not to get this game pushed on to later in the year in my opinion - it would have frustrated us when we wanted to impress DP, left us champing at the bit to make good the Mansfield debacle, and maybe even given Grimsby time to improve ahead of playing us.  As it is, we get three points, a clean sheet, stop the rot, get everyone feeling better about the club, and climb the league a bit (and yes, I know other teams have games in hand).  Playing 442 was also interesting to hear about - so let's enjoy this while we can and look forward to a better second half of season.

I thought it was great. Grimsby offered little resistance, but we had a fair few chances and looked solid at the back. Really enjoyed it, and bar Bolton, best since November (if we can agree on that).

Don't think we played much better, but the luck element favoured us today, that improved the confidence, hence the goal and a good win with nearly a full squad to choose from, onwards and upwards, good luck Danny.
