Coming up with rubbish like this might work in normal business circles where they’re into all the bulllshit buzzword corporate branding, but it’s a mistake to try and put it into a sport like football because it’ll come back to bite you and be used as a tool of ridicule.

It's not even very good - The New Era tagline for last season was decent and the average fan could use it; it was used to justify sales of STs and merch. The entire club felt 'new'.

This WNE claptrap is like a low-resolution version of what you hear American athletes shout at each other before quoting a Bible verse and scoring a touchdown. Just has no resonance with Port Vale at all. Can you imagine a Vale fan using 'Want. Need. Expect' in a conversation?

Something simple would have been fine - 'finish what we started' or something to that degree (if we felt compelled to give the 20/21 League 2 season a tagline, like the next Mission Impossible movie).

Lobbing WNE on the shirts and having the Comms Director hashtag it after every tweet is just a tad cringe.

I still haven't really warmed to the kits, either. Still looks like a darts shirt. Away kit is smart, like. Green kit and chessboard kit just not for me.

I’d like to see if chucked in the bin and replaced with something a bit more realistic.

Something like “see how we get on”

I think

If you WANT to succeed , then you NEED to prepare properly or EXPECT to fail

or something along those lines

I always think that if your motto/tagline needs explaining with more words, then it's probably rather naff.
