Take this score line.  The way they started and us missing some good chances thought it may have been the other way going into half time.

Come on Vale we can win this game today and against one of the teams that always seem to beat us.

Really good half after riding our luck

Good hard work from Hurst Conlin and Burgess
Rodney had a quiet half but a hand in both goals

We've been here before so it's always hard to get excited when it's two nil.

Two great finishes though. Popey was a classic striker finish and Conlon really is the Porthill Pirlo. Love a free kick goal

Conlon is class at free kicks like that. Game not over but very happy. Hurst looks a great prospect and one that Popey will love to have playing out wide

Someone else's turn to rue their missed chances, we could well have been two or three down before we scored but great come back.

Looking really good down that left hand side with Fitz, Tom and Hurst - easily our best player this half. Not so good on the right though, looks as if Zak has had an evening on the sauce and little or no service to Rodney. Need to get that side going next half.

And for anyone fed up with RS commentary, try the home side. Pretty good - fair, balanced and well-informed.

C'mon Vale, we can do this!

Superb resilience by Vale, rode our luck then scored two great goals. Luke Joyce is lucky to be still on the pitch.

Their winger McDonald is a tricky customer, IMHO it's his skill level and trickery causing the problem rather than Mills" poor play.

Alex Hurst getting better every game, love the way he makes half a yard to get a cross in, John Robertson..esque.

Plz concentrate Vale, plz.

Other than them hitting the bar we’ve been ok, it would of been a huge slice of luck had Mills clearance gone in and not done by their quality.

Defensively they are meh, keeper isn’t great so chances for goals and we’ve had a copy of further chances with Hursts crossing causing all sorts of trouble. Should have had a third on half time.

Need to keep it solid second half try and get the next goal and hope Joyce doesn’t do anything silly.
