Father Francis McDermott: Priest guilty of child abuse offences - BBC News

All walks of life, police officers are just as vunerable as the next person, as long as a prosecution is advised by the CPS it's up to the courts.

We are lucky in this country to be served by the best police service in the world, armed with only a radio and a torch, trolled everywhere they go with idiots on phones filming them and posting on youtube so those with an agenda can score cheap points, I think they do a brilliant job, underfunded and understaffed and running the risk of not going home at night to their families.

Only a torch?

You've been watching to much Dickson of dock green.

Evening all.

As the police would say...... if you have nothing to hide what's wrong with filming?

As for the priests and teachers..... they don't enforce laws.

Hampshire 'toxic' police unit officers guilty of gross misconduct

He said vulgar language was the "stock-in-trade" of the unit, where the team's only black officer was often a target of abuse.

Mr Beer said the accused men "habitually" made offensive remarks about women, black people, immigrants, disabled, gay and transgender people and foreign nationals.

The panel listed numerous instances where gross misconduct was committed.

In one case, retired Det Insp Tim Ireson, who led the unit for two years, was described as failing to properly manage an officer who turned up for work drunk.

Det Sgt Gregory Willcox failed to supervise the team, while Det Sgt Oliver Lage made "highly offensive and racist comments" about the black colleague, the panel found.

Other instances of gross misconduct the panel recorded included PC Andrew Ferguson sending colleagues a fake pornographic image of members of the royal family, and former PC Craig Bannerman failing to challenge "the most serious" abuse recorded by investigators.

Was anyone arrested or prosecuted????

Did anyone check their thinking? Or record a none crime on their record?

We will never agree on this, I am not prepared to play OVF tennis back and forth all day I have better things to do with my life, so as far as I'm concerned I will leave you with your ill informed police bashing agenda.

I don't bash good police.

Don't forget your torch...... but don't use it at night the police may think you are suspicious.

The knee protesting is a political protest. I disagree with the FA and Premier League et al. Black Lives Matters is a mono cultural USA based political movement. That is what it says on the website. So fans buy tickets to watch football games. Taking the knee is a service they have not paid for. Like many other fans I don't want to see this protest and I don't want to be expected to support it.

I will support the Kick it Out movement because that is multi cultural and politically non partisan. The players are employees of a football club. Therefore if the players are permitted or encouraged to protest this must be clear at the point of sale of tickets. A secondary service of political protest is being offered for sale. Fans who don't like that can then decline to buy tickets and attend games. I think come next season it is important Port Vale makes its position clear before season ticket sales go ahead.

Would you not buy a season ticket if the Vale players committed to kneeling before every home game, with maybe one or two raised fists?

Good old Warren.

With respect to the Sale Of Goods Act, do we all stand as consumers? Should I be writing a letter to Watchdog?

Should we all be racist now? What’s the official line the church is taking on this?
