January transfer window

If we’ve got a CB in that could well trigger Leon’s exit. If Cullen doesn’t go anywhere then Swan might not happen. Theo’s got his feet up with a cuppa watching Sky Sports according to his Instagram so he looks like is just going to be collecting a wage...

IMO we need a centre-half to go straight in alongside Smith, with Brisley injured.

Maybe he is ready to go straight in? Everyone has to start some time.

Last season, Jake Taylor had zero senior football experience and he went straight in and did well...

In fairness, he’s pretty much been collecting a wage all season so no change there.

One min a young CB from the championship isn’t enough and we need to be doing more... next min it’s just what we need!

I think he meant we need to be doing more than enquiring , as in actually getting a deal done.

That's how I read it ?

Colin Garlick confirmed on RS will definitely get one more player in upfront before window closes.Assuming he was talking about loan for Will Swan.

Gave little away about the manager only quoting Carol's with "speed not haste" strap line.

I got the impression they where not close to making an appointment or announcement.

Doesn't Robinson realise that if he just sits on his back side picking his wages up then when his contract is up with the Vale he will have no chance of getting another club. The way the game is going with bringing squad sizes down, no one will take a chance on a player who has hardly played over the previous two years and to at all for the last 18 months. Assuming he sits  on his back side until the end of his contract.

Surely Crookes deserves a go? He played well at centre half when we first signed him and has never played there since apart from in football league trophy games. Didn’t do anything wrong on Saturday so harsh to drop him. Of course if he doesn’t perform then put the new lad in.

What's he supposed to do?

I'm not a fan of Crookes but I thought he did well on Saturday.

Crooks is fine as a backup. He's also versatile in that he can play in two or three positions. He should never be considered a starter though for any side with ambition to get out of this bomb scare of a league. Not unless he really starts improving.

What we have to remember is, 90% of the time we’ve seen Crookes he’s been playing left back when he’s naturally a centre half. I agree he’s rubbish at left back. He may also be rubbish at centre half but I’m not going to judge him there till I’ve seen him play there.

I agree, and a back up is what he is at the moment since Brisley is out.
