Theo has offered literally nothing. At least we know Cullen can perform for us as he was ok last season

Whats the point of having a player who is always injured now you only have 22 squad players to choose from. You can't afford to carry sick notes anymore.

Now that the rules have changed, I expect changes in the close season, before then a bit of a shambles.

I know fans want some experienced players but i hope we can bring in a couple of athletic mobile younger players with a bit of pace now, hopefully a tall CB in the Innis kind of mould, you then hope you fall on a good one with a potential sell on value(thats what keeps a club going) like we have with Rodders and maybe Taylor which is why they get the long contracts.

I see Crawley have sold the young Doncaster cast off Watters after a few months for 1m

Yes,Watters has gone to Cardiff, who have also agreed a fee with Crwho for Perry Ng.

Think the slight difference with Posh is that they will pay say up to 200 K on a rough diamond and then seem to get a huge profit.

Didn't pay off with Mr Miller , but they aren't shy of getting the cheque book out.

Ivan Toney cost them big bucks and then sold on for silly money.

Slightly off topic i was reading that Exeter are going to lose a lot of money on i think it's Randell Williams , guy with pony tail. He is injured now so can go for free at the end of the season having already rejected moves to The Championship.

I see what you mean,i just used them as an example where you can make money on unknowns, they did start off by getting in non league players selling them on then investing some of that money on better young players(like Toney) same when they signed Dembele from Grimsby,it looks like he could go for a fair whack.

I think if we sell anyone for decent money then with these owners it will get invested back in to the squad

Hearing rumours we're after Pat Webber, recently released from Wigan.

Not sure where the rumours have come from.

21 year old LB/CB. Seems like another Crookes? Unless he is a specialist LB (can't find too much info on him!)

Assume that Crookes is probably being de-registered in that case? Would seem overkill to have 5 centre halves and 4 players who are able to play left back.

I'll never have an issue with us taking on a young lad from a bigger club. Some will work, and some won't, but getting this process right as many times as you can is how you build a squad with young, cheap players with the potential to profit from.

Unfortunately, the more I look at the current squad, with its crop of old men, deadwood, and injury-prone players, the more I think we're going to need a 'rebuild' this summer.

Askey went for some evolution and it's backfired, and now we've got an old squad with a good number of players who are in decline/not good enough. The salary cap is going to dictate that we can't afford to have 2-3 players who are unavailable more than they are on the pitch. Our top earners are going to have to be playing 40+ games if they're going to eat into the cap.

We're also going to need a few U21s who don't have to be registered but can step in in cup games/injury crises; 1-2 from the academy and a couple from elsewhere. Treat them as a Development Squad. Look at non-league. Hurst was playing in tier 6, Rodney in tier 5.

Tough decisions are going to have to be made on Brown, Legge, Joyce, and Pope; can we afford their wages still, whilst ensuring we aren't short elsewhere?

The Salary Cap poses many problems but I quite like it; clubs have really got to sit down and make tough decisions. What % of your cap goes towards your forwards? How many minutes does each player have to contribute to earn his share of the cap? How can we be creative with young players to give us an advantage? Where do we spend the money, and where do we go for the cheaper option?

If Pugh is installed, as I expect he will be, he should be planning now for what he's going to do this summer, as I think it'll be a big one. We can't afford a repeat of last year.

Well Pugh has 2 weeks to have a play around now he is isolating.

Can see a big turn around of players this summer.  We can't keep players who can only play a couple of games - then need 2 months off due to injuries.  Not with only a 22 man squad now.

Just noticed Tyler Denton has gone to Kings Lynn,i actually rated him when he was at Vale,so shows what i know and how players can leave the football league if they aren't careful

Well as we know, the gap between Vale and Kings Lynn isn’t that big!
