I am expecting Taylor to sign in time for Saturday

Don't know if I'm happy with that, the new manager should be making the decisions he might wish to strengthen in other areas, and also I think it sends out the wrong message to any future candidates.

Smacks of he who must not be named trick.

Basically a done deal isn’t it?

Do find a bit odd that we’re signing a player with no manager. Does put into question who’s been signing players recently...

If you are looking for a conspiracy it does... I agree there have probably been some people throwing theor 2 pence worth in  around signings, but I cant see Carol doing anything that the manager doesnt sign off on.

The Taylor one is interesting, I would also prefer if the new manager was given complete control. But this seems relatively low risk, he is a young, goal scoring midfielder (If played correctly and not at wing back) whose fee will be majority sell-on and after his half season at Scunny isnt going to be commanding a massive wage.

If he has come here at the start of the season like he should have rather than his agent tarting him around to try and make a buck, then the new manager would had to have dealt with him anyway.

The interesting thing is that he counts as a squad member, so who is going to drop out to accommodate him.

I note that Colchester sold their last remaining recognised striker yesterday.... a potential return for Theo?

Who knows... pure speculation.

We need him and what if the new manager doesn’t get in situ until too late to get targets we likely want? If it takes three weeks for instance the ship has sailed.

Jake would be a great addition and if it pushes Whitehead further from the first XI that can only be a bonus!

Taylor, Joyce and Conlon Saturday would be like a Ferrari compared to a clapped out Ford Escort compared to what we’ve had there the last few games!

Isn’t Jake under age on the squad cap?

I wouldn't describe any midfield with Joyce in it as a Ferrari. Running ford escort at best!

Well no but it has two very good attacking options just in front which we have been desperate for I guess.

It would be a good investment for the club too.

I’ve no issue with it, I’m more relieved they are looking in case we end up with no one whilst the teams around us strengthen.

I did see a cryptic tweet from theo saying "peak times" which had a few replies frm Col U fans begging for him to come back, dunno if there's anything in but but it wouldn't surprise me.

With JA at them helm I would tend to agree however depending on the new manager and how he wants to play, Tom could be quite pivotal for the reminder of the season.

I could certainly see Tom as captain and the 1st name on the team sheet in a Cowley or Parkinson led team playing the ball from back to front very quickly.

Back to Alehouse stuff do you mean?No thanks.

Issue with Pope to Scunthorpe is obvious, let’s say we can’t slow the slide down do we really want to risk Pope going to a relegation rival and boosting them?

Good luck to any club who think the current  Pope can boost them.By the time next season starts Tom will be a 36 year old in the body of a 46 year old.We need to be looking to the future not the stale present or past.Young and eager to learn is my idea of that.

Taylor signing is of no concern to me. He's a good player.

The new manager won't have much time to make the signings he needs. A midfielder who can score will inevitably be on the list, and we'll take some pressure off the new man in scrambling to assemble improvements to the squad.

I believe Sproson said Forest were looking to sell him permanently; was that just agent talk, or legitimate? I'd be surprised if we do sign him permanently (think he said the initial price wouldn't be much but with a large sell-on), but very pleased. He's the sort of signing the club should be making.

We'll then then need to focus on a centre half with a crumb of mobility.

Yeah probably looking into too much, at least with Taylor it’s a player we blatantly need and performed exceptionally well last time for us. I think who will drop out may become clearer after the Grimsby game. Will mckirdy and Robinson get another go?

Re Taylor. I don’t usually listen to the rubbish on the Facebook page however there are a couple of people who post on there and are generally spot on. One of which seems pretty certain he will sign shortly. Again pure speculation.

Interesting that on colchester. Would be a very good move all round I think.
