Match Thread: Newport County v Port Vale

Recommended Posts

Is anybody having issues setting up ifollow for the free game versus Newport that we were given after the issues during the Cheltenham game?  I was and have just emailed the ticket office.  They came back really quickly with a code so I suggest that if you think you are due a free pass check that it is set up on ifollow.

The usual over reaction on here We had plenty of chances today and yes we struggle to put them away but for me it was an improvement on Tuesdays game and an attacking set up from Askey when we could

Facts We have lost three league games on the bounce each by a single goal despite playing a considerable time with ten men in two of the games. We still sit just outside the play offs in 9th. So

THIS ISN'T AN ASKEY OUT POST BUT I AM GOING TO BE CRITICAL.  Sick and tired of this football club. The evidence is fairly irrefutable that John Askey's Port Vale concede in the last minute a

Could do with 6 points from the three games this week to get back on track.

Today is tough but probably best suited for our game. Tuesday Stevenage away... if they don’t park the bus being at home we’d want to win that and a tricky Orient who have done fairly well this season.

If Pope is out that’s a blow, especially with Robinson not involved for whatever reason in recent weeks. Cullen doesn’t score away so would probably go Rodney if Theo is missing.

Worry about the fact we don’t seem capable of a result without Joyce though.

5 subs allowed from now so will we see some changes to our starting line up?

Or will we just try and change when all seems lost?

This is JA and Co, they don't usually use many of the 3 subs till the 70-75th minute and we are 1 down.  Then its the same formation.

Now he has 5 subs, so he is bound to be more confused what to do.

But we will still support the Vale players.  Knowing Vale, we will win this game and do it comfortably.  We can dream. 🤣

Newport have named a very attack minded team today, probably saw what Tranmere did to us last week. But at least we won't be up against a ten man defence. Going to be a very open game, need to keep switched on early doors, and hopefully hit them on the break. Tough game but all games are winnable in this league, there's no stand out teams. Desperately wanted see Mckirdy start today, hopefully JA has got his selections right though...away win incoming
