Personally i dont think any of us need to panic about things just yet,i do agree that the football we have played so far barring a couple of games has been different and not as effective as last season(maybe teams have sussed us out more),that as people say will be left to Askey to sort out,i will be more interested to see where we are at Christmas and not after 12 games, weird though that we are better off now than at the same stage last season and that is probably because we are drawing less games.

Today is going to be difficult against a team who have won all their home games and had 2wks off but lets go at it and hope them attacking gives us some space,i would happily take 4 points out of the next 2 games,is that possible who knows with Vale.Really need to give McKirdy a run now as he has looked dangerous in last 2 sub appearances.

Onwards and Upwards we hope

4321 formation is less ambitious than what we currently play. So are you hoping to keep a tight ship with 2 in front of the back 4? My point earlier was that when we attack in our current formation, we should look like: 4141. However at present the 2 in centre mid don’t get beyond or support the forward. I would play McKirdy as a 10.

When we played 4-2-3-1 in the early part of the 12/13 promotion season, it was some of the most positive, enjoyable football I've ever seen from a Vale side.

The central midfield of Morsy and Shuker/Burge allowed Loft the freedom to roam from left back, Vincent and Myrie-Williams as inverted wingers terrorized defenders, everything Pope hit ended up in the net and Dodds linked up with everyone in the number 10 role

Need to stop Matty Dolan receiving the ball as part of their back three today.

Also need to clamp down on their wing backs.

Joyce not playing is a miss as Scott Twine is a good player in the advanced midfielder position.

Very tough challenge. These are, in every aspect, a good League 2 side.

They also don't press much, which is not good for us.

Is anybody having issues setting up ifollow for the free game versus Newport that we were given after the issues during the Cheltenham game?  I was and have just emailed the ticket office.  They came back really quickly with a code so I suggest that if you think you are due a free pass check that it is set up on ifollow.

Could do with 6 points from the three games this week to get back on track.

Today is tough but probably best suited for our game. Tuesday Stevenage away... if they don’t park the bus being at home we’d want to win that and a tricky Orient who have done fairly well this season.

If Pope is out that’s a blow, especially with Robinson not involved for whatever reason in recent weeks. Cullen doesn’t score away so would probably go Rodney if Theo is missing.

Worry about the fact we don’t seem capable of a result without Joyce though.
