Question: did Luke Joyce get booked?

Thanks for the replies. The person concerned has actually contacted Luke Joyce via social media and he has confirmed he was booked.
Does anyone have any idea how he takes this up with the betting company refusing to pay up. I told him he needs to forward the reply from Luke Joyce and get them to contact the FA to get them to confirm the booking or not.
He needs to go to the bookie first and elicit their final response. If he's still not happy with the outcome he can refer to IBAS who will adjudicate. Problem is probably the bookies terms and conditions. I had a similar issue years ago when I had a large sum on ajay leitch smith to score our first. Our first was credited to carl dickinson (I think). After the game both carl and ajay confirmed that ajay got the last touch. Despite that, the bookie pointed to its terms and because dicko had been announced and credited as the scorer, they didn't have to pay out. After some to-ing and fro-ing and a threat to refer to IBAS, they finally issued a 'goodwill' payment without any concessions

My mate had a sort of similar issue a while ago. He had Pope first goal scorer and initially the scoreboard along with press association gave it to Dicko when it wasn’t. It was later rescinded but Coral, not unsurprisingly wouldn’t pay out as the change of scorer wasn’t made within so many minutes/hours. He appealed and got nowhere. Good luck to the guy.

BBC website says that Legge and Clark were booked for us, and Lennon for the home team, but no mention of Joyce.

I think all the match stats come from a single source so if there is a mistake it will be the same mistake on BBC, Sky etc...

It makes sense as Sky, BBC etc can't pay to have their own stats person at every major game so they all pay a fee to a company (I think it may be Opta) to have one person at each game and they do the stats for the pool of broadcasters. The "stats guy" has even been mentioned in passing in commentary this season.

However, if that person misses it (as appears to have happened here) it will be the same across all the major sporting websites as they all pull in the stats from that one source.

To be fair to the "stats guy" Southend pulled off a double substitution while the ref briefly flashed a card so it's possible that the statto could have been looking at/noting down the sub changes and not noticed the ref's (very brief) reaction.
