I am running for the Poppy Appeal - will you support me?

Hi,

As you may have guessed, the Royal British Legion can't do their normal street collections etc for the poppy appeal this year so they are struggling to raise much money for what is a very worthy cause.

They have asked people to support them by taking part in the Poppy Run. This is a running event where you pick what to do during November and raise money to support them.

So, I've signed up and decided that rather than one run, I'm going to run 100 Km during November in the form of twenty 5k runs. I'm even going to do the last one in my Vale away top.

You can sponsor me through my fundraising page here - https://mypoppyrun.britishlegion.org.uk/fundraising/MyPoppyRun2020-RobFielding

I appreciate that times and money may be hard for many of you so if you don't have the means to sponsor me that's completely understood.

Thanks,

Rob

I've now done five runs and almost 29Km (18 miles) distance.

I'm fairly confident that my 100Km target will be passed and I may even get as far as 150Km in for the Poppy Appeal.

Week one complete - 35k logged. It's a rest day today as I've got a few aches and niggles from six days running in a row.

However, I will be looking to do a longer run on Sunday to mark Remembrance Sunday. I'll also be wearing the Poppy Run top I ordered.

Job done.

I pledged to run 100Km in November for #poppyrun and I ended up running 128Km. Thanks for everyone who sponsored me (I raised £320), to the Royal British Legion, Aylesbury for plugging my challenge locally and for the Royal British Legion head office  for phoning to find out how I was getting on (plus the t-shirt and lovely medal).

Oh and I did so many runs I actually broke my sponsorship page - it stuck at the 62Km mark. I've got it all logged on my watch (I ran 79 miles or 128Km) if you want to check the final photo 🙂
