The two changes I would have made, certainly won't be criticising JA if the game doesn't go our way. Time for Burgess to step up and show the form from last year which made him such a good important part of our midfield. If we can build on that 1st half performance at Cambridge creating a few more chances I will be happy.

Hopefully Amoo can hold up and start to play himself into some form quickly.

I think Whitehead has both put a shift in in midfield and got himself into a number of goalscoring positions, perhaps more so than any other Vale player in the last couple of games. He’s skied / scuffed / dribbled them to the keeper so far but if that’s part of a process of getting match fit  he might start sticking them away which would be an important contribution.

We’re what 10 games into the season? He and the others should be fit.

Instead of when is Vale going to score, we could have one for the unlucky with injury Amoo.  When will he come off with an injury 😜

Hoping he lasts a good 60 minutes and shows what he does best and all the injuries are past him.  He has been so unlucky at Vale.

Hope a hungry to score Vale team have turned up today and a winning run can start again.

Come on Vale.

Not sure Burgess is the answer based on the games he’s played this season. As Conlon doesn’t seem to want to get into the box, I’m sure Burgess’s job will be to do just that.

More than happy to be proved wrong about Burgess.

Would also expect Monty and Clarke to get down the wing.

As Amoo is unlikely to play a full game, either Rodney on as a straight swap or push Monty on and bring Fitz on.

Burgess was the only other real option other than moving Worrall in there

You may not but it’s just as much as an option as Worrall.

He can dribble past defenders, can find the net and can pick a pass. He may be a bit lightweight but Conlon and Joyce are there for cover.

Burgess is similar in the way that he is a lightweight player.

Just making the point that it’s an option, especially at the moment when we are struggling in the final third.

I’m not sure, in current form that Burgess offers any more going forward. He’ll arguably work harder when having to defend but it seems to be going forward where we need something different.

More than happy to be proved wrong at 10 to 5 after a Burgess hat-trick.
