For a brief moment in time the interests of the elite clubs and the interests of the Football League clubs were aligned.

Now it looks like the Brightons and Crystal Palaces have put a stop to that and it's 'business as usual'. Football in this country needs massive reform and Project Big Picture would have gone a long way to solving many of those problems, albeit whilst possibly creating new problems further down the line.

Oh well, at least it forced the Premier League to gather round a table and agree to actually do something to save the EFL

For me, it's simple. £250m is roughly equivalent to what the PL pay out in parachute payments each year. Rather than shell out another £250m just cancel the parachute payment and distribute that cash

The League Cup is a useless competition and a waste of time, and has been for years IMO.

Whenever Smurthwaite gets linked to a club (Bury last year, Wigan this) he always goes in to bat for him. He must have his number.
