Surely they have received furlough payment for employee's, including playing staff?

The club as a separate entity may have received no financial help. That I don't know. But as the club's biggest expenditure has to be employee's salaries, it is difficult to so how the club have "received nothing"

Granted the furlough support will have now been removed as they are effectively working, but in terms of overall financial support I don't know what more the government can do.

The cry will no doubt be to let the paying public back into stadia, but can anyone honestly, with hand on heart, say that with the infection rate going through the roof that this would be a wise move?

We all want to get back to the live action, but wanting to do it and being able to do it safely are two completely different matters.

Sorry, I meant nothing extra to what every business received. I realised after I’d typed that that someone would mention furlough payments. You didn’t let me down RR!!

B teams. The reason they want them is because as has been mentioned we have successfully helped produce england players through them having loans to the lower leagues. So maybe we just refuse to take loans from premier league clubs and stop helping them produce 30 million pound assets.

Because clubs need the loans/grants to survive.

If you're dying of thirst in the desert and someone comes along and says they'll give you a bottle of water if you sign over your house to them then you sign over your house to them.

Why cant the club allow supporters in to use the exec boxes? You hire a box for 6 people, go for a meal and watch the game from the box, you are socially distanced from other supportes in other boxes. It would at least bring some money in

Most, if not all the boxes are sold anyway so the club already has the money for them.

Six of the England starting 11 tonight started their careers in the EFL.
Pope, Gomez, Coady, Philips, Ings and Calvert-Lewin.
Ultimately wouldn't it suit the current Premier League clubs if there was no promotion or relegation as long as you were already in it. The American NFL model springs to mind . Very few Premier clubs care about anyone other than themselves.

Also bear in mind that any furlough payments presumably stopped immediately the season re-started!

The betting companies expend enormous resources encouraging people to bet on football because they make billions from it. So apply a tax to all bets placed  on football and then apply the revenue raised to support efl and grass roots clubs
Didn't we used to have a betting tax, or have I imagined that?

They still have some staff furloughed

Yes, I assumed they would have.  But all the playing and backroom staff had to come off furlough once they stated pre-season training, so major costs are buliding up each month with little or no regular revenue!
