So this is the third or fourth time already this season that people have said how toothless up top. All with different strikers, including one whom most of you cry is the best striker in the league and another who seems to be able to score for any other team he plays for. Can we now agree that the issue is not the strikers, but the service. All hoofball again today. When will we learn?

Spot on Philip, spot on.

Spot on. Without any kind of service how can we either score goals or win matches. Far too many players today were clueless. Without Oyeleke we have no vision or guile. However the glaring conclusion is that whoever we play up front will struggle with the non existent ideas from midfield. Opponents know totally how to play against Vale and until the management realise that, we will struggle.

Think the players should apologise to Carol for taking the shine off her day.

Missing two goals was the downfall of Vale today.  If Rodders header had gone in and Pope had scored, we would have taken the 3 points.  The Vale side crumbled and it seemed the players did not want to shoot at goal, but let someone else take the responsibility of shooting.

Tyler it is has been poor but come on... You can't blame Askey for Rondey missing an absolute sitter and Pope not being clinical from the penalty spot.

I’ve given up on everything and everyone to be honest. I’m gonna become a Buddhist and knock football on it’s head. <ovf censored> it.

Nice knowing you all.

I think Carlisle were a good side. But the team selection by Askey and then his management of tactics during the game today were very poor. 6 changes????????? Completely overrun in central midfield because he has weakened the side with his selections. Then on top of that he has not adjusted the tactics to address us being outnumbered there. Last week at Morecambe, who parked the bus and aren't a good technical team, he also made the wrong choices when he needed to improve us in the final third. I am really annoyed. I think personally has cost us at least 4 points and possibly all 6. I know we had chances to day but the stats say they had 16 shots to our 8, they had 6 on target to our 1 (a pen) and they had 25 interceptions - way more than us - because our midfield was incredibly poor. We then went long with straight balls in the wrong position. Finally, why is Whitehead on the ball taking the freekick near the end and kicking it hopelessly to their first defender. He was having a truly monumentally poor game. At least Worrall should have been over it.

OK, I will calm down, and everyone makes mistakes, but Askey needs to improve.

Whitehead is absolutely awful

Worst player on the pitch today. Almost got himself sent off in the first half and in the second, when perfectly placed, he sent a shot from the edge of the D into the stands. Then with probably our last chance to send a good free kick into the box, it doesn't even clear the first defender. Can't blame the lad really, he was having a mare, but by that time Askey should have subbed him.

Totally agree the midfield lacks any quality and askeys signings again are poor to say the least whitehead must be related in some way that’s the only reason I can see why he starts

Terrible performance.  As an armchair manager I'd say JA got the team completely wrong but no excusing some of the performances, particularly after they scored.

No idea why so many changes, at least we've looked solid 433 in previous games even if we weren't creating much. With Oyeleke out we don't have the players in midfield to go 442.  Carlisle were given the freedom of the park.  Their midfield won't have an easier game.

That's the problem right there.

Best player at the club
