If you haven't managed to nab a pre-order I'd seriously wait a few months at least. I know a fair few people that have bought two or three in the hope that they can sell them for a decent profit to those who missed out on a pre-order for whatever reason. As valiant_593 mentioned above, there isn't really any need to rush to purchase one unless you plan on playing some slightly better looking and running older games, and/or just want to stare at it on your shelf or TV stand for a while... I've done that somewhat with some very pretty gaming PC's I've built in the past to be fair!

I bought PS4 on its launch day last time round.

I've convinced myself not to bother this time round.  I've not been blown away by anything I've seen regarding launch material and, to be perfectly honest, I'm just not very excited by it.  Could just be that I'm seven years older!

It's got to be worth leaving it six months or so when they normally come down by about £150 and there's some decent games available that are actually designed using the new tech.

I always feel the new consoles come out when they're only just starting to make the most of the current ones as well.

If they bring a "PS5 Pro" out just as everyones bought the PS5 like they did with the PS4 I'll be peeved again!

Yeah, all fair points about the price coming down and the launch titles. The last console I bought at launch was the Gamecube.

The games I've got my eye on in the next few months (Watch Dogs: Legion and Hitman 3) are being released on both generations and I'll be happy enough playing them on the PS4.

So anyway yesterday I thought I'd start a bit of a thread about gaming, thinking there's no reason why people who are interested in the subject can't come on here and have a sensible discussion about something they enjoy, whereas people with little no interest in the topic could simply ignore it and continue their circular arguments about politics.

Like you more than happy to play games like watchdogs on current gen

I still play a lot of games on older consoles, usually games I missed first time round that I hunt down at various shops and that. It's amazing how many copies of Brian Lara Cricket on PS2 that you come across. I might have hacked one or two consoles as well which can be fun.

because computer games are for kids.  Sure man baby's have now taken them on and games makers are getting wealthy laughing at 30 year old blokes pretending to be Rambo or similar.  Its all a bit sad isn't it.  Whilst you lot are chatting to one another over headsets pretending to run around playing army, your girlfriends are out getting snagged by proper men.

My lady is more of a gamer than I am so I don't have to worry about that. But you sound like a right bundle of fun. Either you're a woman on her period or you're perhaps 5'8 and have a chip on your shoulder - Little man's syndrome!

Care to share one or two of your hobbies and interests?
