It's a load of nonsense, and it won't happen anyway. Absolutely zero chance as there will be too much opposition to it, which we've clearly seen in the last 24 hours.

But all those constantly slating the Premier League constantly would no doubt be absolutely elated if Port Vale ever managed to reach our highest league in the football pyramid, of that I have no doubt. And if people are genuinely happy enough bouncing around League One and League Two then that only shows a massive lack of ambition on their part.

No one wants Vale not to play at the highest level - all people want is a level playing field, where those clubs with the deepest pockets don't necessarily win the honours. Even in the Premier League era Blackburn Rovers and Leicester City have won the title. For these six, chosen for their bank balance rather than their performance on the field, to enter an elite competition with no relegation is barmy and completely alien to the game I love.

And that's perfectly fine. I get it. But there are people here that constantly say the Premier League is this and that. But should Vale ever reach it, these same people would no doubt be elated. Surely it's a place where every single football league club aspires to be.

And that's the point - we can, even though the disparity in incomes between Championship and Premier League clubs is all too apparent and is often insurmountable for the Sheffield Uniteds of this world. But this proposal is for a closed shop with no possibility of accepting new blood on merit.

Blackburn kinda bought the league at a time when money had yet to completely take over the game. Leicester was a once in a hundred years event and even then they were owned by Thai billionaires.

It is amusing though that Arsenal (zero Champions League trophies) and Spurs (not even a Premier League title) have been invited into this new league. No room for Ajax with their four European titles?

In 2021 Liverpool have had 146 shots on goal at Anfield and scored 4 goals.

There's hope for us all?

They will be back big time next season.  VVD is the best defender in the World. Was always going to miss him. They will walk the league title. Yes I know about Man City.

Congratulations to Brentford on reaching the PL.Tenth time lucky in play-offs.

Considering you have a 25% chance of winning the play-offs then a 10% success rate isn't that bonkers. Good work Brentford anyway
