Thought that was really positive from a team point of view but an awful game. Thought DTS had a terrific game and is probably my MOTM. Bowers was a bit hard on Hurst, thought he had a decent game considering he was up against an experienced player and didn't have a natural full back backing him up, just let down by his final ball but looked tidy. We may have a cult hero on our hands in Visser, a number of good saves in game and immense in the shoot out.

Very impressed again with Dino, looks to be a real gem of a signing and Brown finally has good competition for the number one spot.

Rodney looked impressive when he came on and will definitely get better over time.

Thought Trickett-Smith and hurst did okay but could probably do with a loan somewhere to gain more experience. 

Another cup win and surely a good boost of morale for the team. Bring on Saturday

I agree with loaning out Hurst, hopefully a national league would do him some good. DTS is out of contract this summer and older than Conlon and Burgess... If he doesn't make a move into the first team picture soon it's probably curtains for him.

Just a general point. 

Accy beat Leeds 7-0 & Sunderland defeat Villa 8-1, so Lord only knows what sort of teams they put out. 

Vale will make numerous changes from tonight for Saturday’s opener.

As has been said many times before, what purpose does this once decent competition now serve when it is disrespected by all and now even sundry  ?

This competition is now possibly even more pointless than friendlies.

 Completely agree on DTS thought he was one of the best players on the pitch looked tidy and don’t think he lost the ball, looks like he could be decent cover for the likes of burgess and seems as though he’s got more of a chance breaking into the first team this season, interesting as seems like a new signing if he does manage too

I also think it would be interesting for askey to start visser in the league would keep brown on his toes and would hopefully make brown perform better knowing he has to perform to a high level every game (not saying he didn’t do that last season but think it could make brown into a even better keeper)

Looks handy doesn't he? I also thought Tricky-Smith had a good game. Not so convinced by Hurst.  Rodders looked lively when he came on. Decent effort given the key players that were missing.
