BTW, I will kick off by saying my kids and I will miss Gavin's Boomer immensely. He was as much a part of the Vale Park experience for them as the players and always happy to joke with them, pose for selfies in the family area. My very best wishes for the future for Gavin and thanks for the memories.

I wholeheartedly agree with the above.

He's been a great asset to the Vale and very popular with the kids. He will, indeed, be sorely missed. I trust he'll get a soft rug by the fire and plenty of bones to chew in his well earned retirement. He's been a brilliant mascot - the very best. Thanks for the memories and for your commitment, loyalty and fun.

Absolutely gutted to hear Gavin is stepping down as Boomer. However I can fully understand, as he's had health issues and maybe it's time the old dog rested .What a massive void he and his late dad,Errol will leave now.Maybe Vale can come up with some form of lasting tribute to two of the nicest guys that have ever set foot in Vale Park.Good luck for the future Gav 🤗🤗

Thank You Gavin/Boomer for all those years of entertainment you've given to young and old alike.  It's been a joy to watch each game, season after season, another group of wide eyed young fans, my own family included, run down to the front to meet you with a hi 5 and have their picture taken.  In fact sometimes it's been the only bright spot on an otherwise dismal afternoon.  You really do deserve a massive pat on the back.  (Sorry about that last line but, keeping true to the spirit of Boomer, I couldn't resist.)

Thank you Gavin/Boomer for the great memories over the years.  My daughter loved your antics and would often watch you rather than the match to see what you did next and make her laugh.  She loved the fact you seemed to have fun and said she loved seeing Boomer on a mountain bike on one occasion.

When I said you were standing down, she said who would take over and wee on the goal posts, meet the kids and the adults.  When things were bad at Vale, you could always rely on Boomer to make people laugh.

A big thank you and enjoy your time off - you are a true legend at Vale Park.
