At their best City are a wonderful attacking team and full value to watch. But they remain susceptible at the back and have occasionally lost games you would think that they'd win easily.

I go along with the commentators last night who seemed surprised that they altered their line-up and tactics and left one or two of their skilful attackers on the bench. The two Silvas and Mahrez, for example. They gave Lyon too much respect. But the French team had done well against them in the past and maybe Pep was pre-occupied with stopping them instead of just going for it.

It was one of those games where it all went wrong. A poor first half. That appalling Sterling miss. The possible trip on Laporte. And the error from the 'keeper. Nothing went for them. Sometimes you get that in a match.

I didn't think they could beat Bayern anyway. Just too fragile and at times sloppy at the back. How many centre halves have they used in the last couple of years?

PSG and Bayern would be a good final, if it comes to that. PSG are flaky as well but have two magnificent, fast strikers.

The biggest budget in world football and still can’t get near the champions league final would love to see pep in charge of a team with limited resources like Burnley or Sheffield Utd he wouldn’t last 5 minutes

Agreed, however the flip side of that is always what could the likes of Sean Dyche (who I am a massive fan of) achieve at a club where trophies are expected.

For Pep to be classed as a truly legendary coach he needs success once more on the European stage, not just with that exceptional group at Barca that had Messi / Xavi / Iniesta / Alves / Pique in their prime.  He has had charge of Bayern and Man City since with boundless resources and not yet threatened.

Should be a good final. Personally think Bayern will win it.

I watched Linfield earlier in a champions league qualifier against Legia Warsaw on the BBC red button. Very unlucky and even when they went down to ten men they gave it a go against the Polish champions. Not bad for a part time football team
