Some fans seem convinced Tideswell's tweets are simply referring to the away kit being black, and not Maynard modelling it (despite it being very clear in the original tweet that he responded to with an eyes emoji and 'you can afford to be excited').

I have no idea. For Jean to not be convinced is slightly worrying.

I sincerely hope our Communications Director hasn't had a howler here. Would be a PR disaster if it's kit release and nothing else.

There's no way his tweets mean anything but that.

I simply can't see why he'd tweet what he did if he didn't know Maynard was sorted. If he's not announced, it's a communications disaster.

I would have expected more build up to Maynard being announced myself but you never know... you get like hints before.

Thats it he wouldn't have done that over a kit release. He would have stated no play just the kit release if so. I have read through the post a couple of times now.

In my view there's only one way of reading a club employee tweeting 'you can afford to get excited' about a tweet which explicitly mentions what a 'dream' it would to unveil Maynard with the new kit,

I don't think a black away kit is anyone's dream. I don't think people would be 'getting excited' over a black away kit.

We'll find out in 40 minutes but I simply refuse to believe Tideswell has scored such a massive own goal here. It would be disastrous from a guy tasked with communications.
