I think the club needs to really consider holding back on a new winger as an October return for fans is looking unlikely.

Weather fans are allowed in the stadiums or not, the games are still going ahead so we still need players.

I would probably agree with that.

Any new player who comes in would be trying to force their way into the team with Worrall, Amoo, Rodney and also Montano already able to play in the front three. Without a full pre-season under their belt so they will be at a disadvantage from the start.

This is Nathan Thomas' hat-trick for Carlisie versus FGR in Jan 2020.

Starts with a close range tap-in (1.54) then the one on 2.23 was described by Carlsie boss as the best goal he has seen live and then he scores a penalty (4.32)

Rodney is a striker, Amoo has injury issues and Montano hardly reliable fitness wise either. It would be silly not to replace Browne right now while we can as long as it’s the right player and profile.

Not sure.... I think this will be a difficult season for football.... unrealistic for clubs in lower leagues  to keep going without fans in the ground and matchday revenues. There's no way crowds will be allowed back anytime soon given current information.

Even if Vale are ok for longer than most because of the amazing season ticket sales, its unrealistic to think we'll get through the season without interruptions at best or cancellations at worst.

Maybe its worth keeping money in the bank rather than spending on players at the moment.

5 goals is okay. Nothing to get excited about.

McKirdy scored 11 didn't he? Speaks for itself.

Depends what we’re after.

Remember we are only replacing Browne who wasn’t a regular last season. I’ve never seen Thomas play (if I have I don’t remember him). His record looks ok and a pretty solid signing. Mckirdy is a very good player and your right probably better than Thomas, but he’s a bad egg and can really upset dressing rooms.

As poster earlier. I think it’s down to funds now. Given fans probably won’t be returning Maybe it’s not the best option to look at bringing in another player.

Mckirdy looks to be the better player but not necessarily the better signing imo.

Vale will be fine we have the season ticket sales plus think how many people will purchase match passes for behind closed door games and away games, obviously it won’t be the same income as fans coming into games but when fans come back it is probably just going to be season ticket holders arguably it won’t be that much difference between fans going back and them not being there, the only difference is the food and drink sales on match days- if we can get through rounds in all the cup competitions aswell will give us a nice amount of revenue, some other teams may struggle but with vales fan base and owners I can’t see us struggling financially this season

With Thomas I can see why askey would offer him a contract before McKirdy, Thomas is less of a risk, mckirdy is the better player but chance he could disrupt the squad and cause uneccasary hassle if askey believes he won’t do this and can get the best out of him then I would take mckirdy all day long however if he has doubts about him I’d much prefer a safer option who is still proven he can deliver at this level and still looks a slight upgrade on browne, I’ve heard that Thomas has been told to make a decision today and we haven’t completely pulled out on deal with mckirdy if Thomas doesn’t accept the contract we’ve offered him- we will have one or the other by the Saturday

I think we all have to be thankful that this COVID situation happened this year with carol and Kevin on charge because it probably would of been the end of the vale if fat f*ck Smurf was still here

Its like they came and rescued Vale just in time.

And they will need our support through the next 12 months , i am aware that times will be hard for some,
