Just a thought and i have no idea but does the signing of local players from macc crewe etc save the club on an additional accommodation costs for players needing to stay over??? Eg if we sign a player from giingham and he has to find a place then are the club liable for overnight hotel costs before and after a game before he moves more local.

I believe those costs are included in the salary cap. It will make it difficult to relocate a player and stay within the cap. Looking at some of the mental health problems of young players moving around the country for 12 month spells maybe a good thing. Apart from Visser I think all our signings live within an hour drive.

If he signed Rowe it would be a real coup and I don’t think there’d be too many complaints.

Struggling to see the love in with Rowe as I suspect like most people I don't remember much about his one appearance against Vale for Lincoln. Given he was substituted early in the second half it probably wasn't that memorable. He was one of a number of non league players signed by bigger clubs in the hope of unearthing the next Jamie Vardy, most of which flopped. He has a wikipedia page which has some description at odds with his actual record, which is mediocre in terms of league football. He looks ok on YouTube,  but as this is heavily edited by agents every player tends to. His goal scoring record at EFL level isn't that impressive. Ipswich fans thought he wasn't good enough for league 1.

Askey has managed him before so should know enough about it. He honestly isn't a signing I would get particularly excited about one way or the other. I'd be surprised if he proves better than Amoo, Worrall and even possibly Rodney in the wide role. If he signed and does well I'll be very pleased but there seems a lot more hype than substance.

Fingers crossed....

Listened to Askey on Radio Stoke this evening.
When asked about potential signings he said we have 2 in training and have held talks with another, suggesting 3 potentials.

Askey gives little away in terms of substance when he gives an interview and sometimes is happy to deflect the media from his intentions.  It would seem odd to have got someone in on trial today to have agreed a deal with McKirdy by the evening. Anything is possible.
